XavierREVIEW ESO AND BACHILLERATO (SOCIAL AND HUMANITIES). ENGLISH
BACHELOR REVIEW classes (Social, Humanities), English, Catalan, Philosophy, Literature, History ... AND THAT. More than 20 years giving individual and small group classes in English, Spanish and Catalan. Academies and online. My name is Xavier. I was born in Barcelona ... a long time ago. I grow up in this town, but now I live a bit far from here. I studied at the University of Barcelona and in Huddersfield (near Shefield, Halifax, Leeds, Manchester, Liverpool, ... not very far from York: quite nice places and better people), and I've been teaching Catalan, Spanish, Philosofy , History and English for a long time ... since I was 16. What happened? Very short, I promise: I was walking down the street two years ago, from just opposite this private school, and I thought myself: well, you might enter this place and see. I like English language very much ... and the UK, ... but I don't have a poster of the Queen on my bedroom's wall. It was a sort of a blind date. And there she was: her smile, her diligence, effectiveness. Eva listened to me. And after two weeks she was texting me for a class. "Please, Xavier, can you cover for some classes?" And here I am. (That was two years and a half ago, at the Academy English Studio where I have been an English teacher for more than two years, untill 13th March, when the lady in charge said literally that she would pass my 59 students to another teacher because I had no Internet at home, as I had recently moved to another town and had not had time to set the Internet, and nobody could have possibly known about that horrible and destructive confinement). More than 20 years teaching and learning with my students. Online classes. Spanish and Catalan teacher, too.

HaiderSociology tutoring for Secondary/GCSE Level students
My approach is relaxed but tailored to your needs/weaknesses (we can discuss this early on so we can move forward and work on improving your understanding in these areas). I am, like many students, not a fan of simply reading pages and pages of information, hence why I like to discuss concepts, theories, etc. (making it easier for students to remember information ... the information is also easier to digest this way!). Studying sociology may be a bit daunting at first with the introduction of new keywords and theories, but I am here to try and help ease that process of beginning to study Sociology and to also create an environment for you to openly discuss and air thoughts about the topics in conversation and Sociology in general.

If- BY RUDYARD KIPLING (‘Brother Square-Toes’—Rewards and Fairies) If you can keep your head when all about you Are losing theirs and blaming it on you, If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you, But make allowance for their doubting too; If you can wait and not be tired by waiting, Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies, Or being hated, don’t give way to hating, And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise: If you can dream—and not make dreams your master; If you can think—and not make thoughts your aim; If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster And treat those two impostors just the same; If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools, Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken, And stoop and build ’em up with worn-out tools: If you can make one heap of all your winnings And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss, And lose, and start again at your beginnings And never breathe a word about your loss; If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew To serve your turn long after they are gone, And so hold on when there is nothing in you Except the Will which says to them: ‘Hold on!’ If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue, Or walk with Kings—nor lose the common touch, If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you, If all men count with you, but none too much; If you can fill the unforgiving minute With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run, Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it, And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son! n/a Source: A Choice of Kipling's Verse (1943)

Tamara21-CENTURY NECESSITIES in ENGLISH- from basic and general to advance and business ENGLISH through the scope of HUMANITIES and GLOBAL ISSUES!
Hello there, my friend from the future! :) My name is Tamara, and I specialize in both tutoring beginners and advanced students, both general and basic, as also academic, legal and business English. Since I have an LLM in International law, and my expertise is in Environmental Law, Human Rights, International Criminal, and Humanitarian Law and even Space law, I tend to tackle them with a much wider, multidisciplinary approach, so my students can gain a broader perspective on the crucial issues of today's society. Similarly to that, regarding general English, I intend to go through it through 21st-century "know-hows" and "must-knows", related to the crucial issues of today's society e.g. Environmental protection and conservation, climate change, global warming, healthy nutrition, consumerism, corruption, Human Rights, spiritualism, self-improvement, self-awareness, self-empowerment, and other similar important topics. As you can see, all of these topics can be taught from the aspect of social sciences and humanities, which is what I do best! My main method is oral communication, Q&A, brain games, role-play, providing reading material, using a multimedia approach and engaging students with various different teaching tools. With younger or beginner students, I usually also use flashcards, TPR (Gestures and body language), and even teaching toys and props. But, although I am very thorough, my teaching style is also very flexible in terms of adaptability to the students' needs and preferences - which means that you can count on a relaxed, natural and friendly environment with me! :) And, don't worry! I'm a Law graduate, so I'm always objective when it comes to teaching! And, since I'm of the opinion that a teacher must be, above all, an activist, and a humanitarian, a giver and a helper, an adviser and, of course, a friend... I must honestly say that, If you like what you just read, I can't wait to meet you and help you start creating a small change in building a better society for future generations, by improving yourself and sharing your knowledge with others!
JoshOnline International School Teacher - IGCSE, A-Level, AP, IB MYP/DP, etc. English, Philosophy, Business, History, Sociology, Humanities +
I am a UK-qualified teacher with a decade of experience teaching and leading at some of the best international schools around the world - Europe, Asia, Africa and South America. My work teaching and leading departments in schools included curriculum planning and design, assessing & tracking hundreds of students, supporting student university applications, and implementation of additional measures for students with specific learning support needs. I believe that education is most effective as an interesting, constructive and engaging discussion between student, class and teacher; enjoyable and stimulating, rather than stressful and pressure-laden. I keep my classes light and relevant, while also maintaining high standards for students to build their expectations for themselves. I am CELTA-qualified and my experiences teaching non-native English around the world have helped me understand the challenges faced by students studying subjects in their second- or third- language. SaskiaSocial Sciences - Psychology, Sociology and Criminology.
I have been studying social sciences since I was 14 and now I'm 21. I would love to transfer what I have learnt at GCSE, A-LEVELS and my Degree to students who may not be finding it as unchallenging! My teaching style is very personalised; I want to present the knowledge and then the students develop their own techniques for revision whether that be mind-maps or a song. However, I will also provide my own resources whether that be a quiz or worksheet. I will also test them after every new topic using past exam papers to prepare them for what is to come.
