Explanation of Sociology for Students - Key Terms and Theories

I have completed a GCSE and A level in sociology. My aim is to explain topics that students may be unsure about or struggling with so that they can consolidate their knowledge. If the student has any practice questions they’re struggling with, I am happy to go through it with them.

About Me

Hi! My name is Jess and I’m a first year sociology student at the University of Nottingham. I enjoy volunteering and working with people and have volunteered at a local Beaver Scout group in the past. I’m originally from near Sheffield and support the Sheffield Steelers ice hockey team.

Education

Currently studying BA Sociology at UoN, A* in A level sociology, A* in GCSE sociology. I also completed full A levels in chemistry and biology as well as an AS in history.

Experience / Qualifications

I have some teaching experience as I volunteered as an English teacher in Thailand for a month. In secondary school I was a peer mentor and delivered training to other academies in the schools chain. This involved delivering PowerPoint slides, answering questions and running a small group activity.

A level classes in sociology and English language a level. I’m also able to do applied science. I’m able to offer gcse sociology & gcse chem
English language and sociology a levels are great choices to pick; however, they can get slightly trickle as your progress through the courses. Both of these courses require a good understanding of the fundamentals and of the theory in order to succeed.

Manage your studies, apprehend an exam session, understand social science courses, write a thesis
Hello everyone, My "course" is not a course, because I do not intend to teach new subjects. I propose instead support / follow-up / coaching. So you bring your class, or questions, or a work (or memory) in progress, or you just come with your class schedule, and I'll guide you in there, I explain concepts or course chapters remained obscure (I love to popularize), or simply I give you tips and tricks to be well organized in your studies and you get out at best! - Organization of an exam session - Coaching for students (organization of his working time, his week, his schedule ...) - Analysis of the working method of the student to improve its efficiency (on the basis of notes, schedules, possible syntheses ...) - Additional explanations in human sciences (on the basis of the course material) - Follow-up and help for a job to be done in Bac in sociology-anthropology - Coaching for any student who has to write his thesis in the humanities - Proofreading on the background of anthropological dissertations Concerned public : - optional high school students "social sciences" - graduate students (uni / hautes écoles) whatever the subject (for a general course in human sciences Bac 1 or 2) - students of uni / hautes écoles (Bac or Master) for a course of sociology / anthropology - students (or VAE) who must pass a jury in anthropology See you soon ! helene
