Studying subjects such as emotion, language, and body language can help you fine-tune your interpersonal communication skills. By learning more about these things, you can gain a greater understanding of other people and what they are trying to say. As you study psychology you will learn more about topics such as the scientific method, decision-making, and problem-solving, all of which might help you hone your ability to think deeply and critically about different issues. Sure, there are plenty of exciting careers in psychology that you might want to explore, but studying the subject can help you in many other professions as well. For example, if you want to become a business manager, understanding human behavior can improve your ability to manage and interact with your employees. Understanding how people change and grow throughout the lifespan can make it easier to understand the children in your life, as well as your aging parents. It can also shine a light on your own experiences as you encounter different challenges and opportunities as you age. Studying sociology provides a better understanding of the following: Reasons for social differences, including differences in social behavior. Reasons for the differentials in group opportunities and outcomes. The relevance of social hierarchies and social power in everyday life. As a discipline, Sociology of Education instills cultural appreciation, respect, and admiration towards diversity, and more in-depth knowledge about different cultures and other social groups through the patterns in education within them.

Sociology is a vast field of study. In the class introduction to sociology, I shall teach about the social forces like religion, gender, class, ethnicity and so on that shape our society and us(as individuals). It will be a very interactive class involving lots of discussions and debates about sociological paradigms and ideas. For beginners it will introduce you to history of sociology(how did this field emerge in academia?), classical sociology theories and concepts. it will also cover important sociologists, their field of work and critiques. You might like some sociology scholars, find some of their ideas/arguments not relevant or even unacceptable, this class is the platform to learn, discuss and critique! For intermediate learners, the class will cover more of current debates and recent research developments in sociology; traditional subjects such as class, culture, families/kinship, and religion. My favorite topic is Magic, religion and science and classes on that will be pretty interesting! We shall decode Bronislaw Malinowski's essays together! For Advance learners, this class will be more of a support system through which they can clarify doubts and have solid discussions about about progressive areas like digital society, social media, migration, and the interconnectedness of modern global society. Lots of ethnographic case studies. if you are interested to learn about the caste system in India, do take up my class as we shall have pretty interesting conversations about it. We can also deal with questions like how to make a living out of sociology?
