I have many years of experience in private teaching and am currently completing my Master of Pedagogy at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Basel. As an MA Performance graduate of the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, one of my greatest passions is engaging with historically informed performance practice. My name is Clara and I'm a cellist, teacher, and performer in Basel. I'm active in many different genres myself, which is why I can teach a wide variety of things on the cello :) It's important to me to create a learning atmosphere where both student and teacher feel comfortable. Where do I come from musically?

It has always been important to me to explore all the possibilities my instrument offers. And to be honest, I'm not finished yet; the cello has so many facets to discover! I've already tried many different styles. I completed my Master's degree in Contemporary Music at the Basel Academy of Music in 2025. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Artistic Pedagogy in Freiburg. This gives me a solid foundation for teaching the instrument in a playful way and for unlocking the creativity of my students.

Can you also find me on stage?

Yes, mostly with my jazzy indie-pop band "Partiprivati". We write our own songs and I'm usually responsible for a good bassline :)

But also with Percaso String Quartet, with whom we only play string quartet works by women.

Or in Ensemble IPSO, a music theater project in which we try to blend the boundaries between music, theater and dance.

And always with solo performances at vernissages.
