My name is Huyen and I have held a diploma in teaching French (foreign language - FLE) since 2012 from the Higher Institute of Translators and Interpreters (now attached to the Free University of Brussels). Former interpreter at the Lille High Court, I am now a teacher.

I offer French lessons for children. I know that learning a new language can be intimidating at first, and improving is quite a challenge. However, everyone learns in their own way and at their own pace. This is why the course content and teaching method will change from one student to another. The lessons will be developed and adapted according to the student's level but also their needs and learning style. During lessons, I will emphasize active learning and try to interact with the student as much as possible.

About Me

Former interpreter, I had the great opportunity to do missions in English/Mandarin/French for the Tribunal de Grande Instance at Lille. It was an enriching experience. I am now a primary school teacher and uses active learning methodology.

I love learning languages, travelling, playing volleyball and trekking. Photography is also one my favorite hobbies.

I use different types of teaching methods depending on the student's level, goals, personality, speed of learning, etc. Having myself learned foreign languages, I know that courses adapted to the student are more efficient.

FLE teacher graduated from the Alliance française Bruxelles-Europe. I taught in Laos (1 year in a local school) in Peru (1 year in a college and in a French alliance), in Moscow (2 years in a private language school), in Brussels (6 month in an association that delivers courses to newcomers and the F9 for private and group lessons at the ULB).
The type of teaching that I favor is based on active pedagogy, constant interaction of the learner with his teacher and his environment, a cultural exchange and a clear and precise understanding of the objectives to be achieved.

I like to use different methods to teach French to students. It can be through songs, drama, role play or videos. I also very often use situations close to the student's experience, such as describing places they have been or talking about what they have experienced.
