Learn French with a certified and experienced teacher
From 42.84 £ /h
I teach complete beginners as well as intermediaries and people who want to become advanced French speakers. I have experience with the following specific requests: classes for kids, DELF students & helping out high school students. I include homework when the student has time to do them, and prepare personalized classes.
I use the communicative based approach when teaching. I work with textbooks, authentic materials, exercises, songs... I usually give homework/preparation that the student can do alone (reading & listening comprehension) and during the lesson we speak as much as possible so that the student gets the most benefit from the lessons.

Extra information
I generally teach from about 14h to 19h CET. As I give a lot of classes online, I only go to the student's home within pretty restricted boundaries (Strassen, Merl, Belair) and even then I sometimes have to say no when the student asks me to come to his/her place.

About Me
ABOUT ME:
I've always loved learning languages myself, so it made sense when I started teaching them after my studies. Besides French and English I also speak Dutch, German, Luxembourgish and Italian. I love the close contact with the students, and it's a great feeling when they start being capable of correcting themselves and just generally speaking seeing their progress in real time!
METHODOLOGY:
My general philosophy: every class should be a challenge, but a doable challenge for the student. I tailor my classes to the student's goals and needs, and as much as possible to his/her personal interests (we always learn better when we're dealing with interesting and engaging content). I also always stress to my students that regularly dealing with input in your target language (reading books, watching videos or films, music...) is necessary, in addition to speaking classes with a teacher, to become truly fluent and at ease.
I also try to make my students as independent as possible, by helping them find videos, books and podcasts in French that interest them and learning methods that work for them so that they can also progress on their own.
