If there's one thing I can promise, it's that you won't be bored with me! I know that learning English, particularly the grammar (looking at you, irregular past participles) can be a challenge, but I'm here to try and make things seem much less scary. I'm currently working with children and teenagers, so I really do understand the importance of learning through fun, and making things as clear and simple as possible.

I'm a native English speaker ad qualified TEFL teacher, and I've been teaching in France for almost a year. I have experience teaching both adults and children - my youngest student is 3 years old, and my oldest was 76. Although I prefer an immersion style of teaching (always speaking in English), I realise that there occasionally difficulties with translating words here and there, so my knowledge of French can also be helpful. I'm currently studying for a BA in English and French, so I'd be happy to approach your studies from a literary, cultural or linguistic angle.

Instead of telling you what you'll learn, I'm here for you to tell me what you want. Of course, we'll do a diagnostic session, and I might give you some (friendly) advice about what I think you need, but ultimately, what I can offer are lessons that are entirely tailored to you. We can spend the hour on the past simple vs the present perfect. We can spend the hour analysing your favourite book using various literary theories (yes, even Harry Potter). We can spend the hour focusing entirely on conversation - your fluency, accuracy and intonation. I speak the Queen's English, so I like to think that I'm easy to understand, and hopefully you'll be speaking like a BBC presenter in no time!

I'll stop there, as this is getting dangerously long, so please do get in touch and I'll be happy to answer any questions you might have, or provide you with a sample lesson plan.

I look forward to hearing from you!

About Me
There are three things that I can guarantee if you're working with me:
1) Flexibility. As I mentioned in the class description, the lessons will be 100% tailores to your wants and needs. Furthermore, as you can see, I'm happy to be extremely flexibile with the lesson times. You like to start work at 23h? Fine by me. You want to squeeze in a class before school/work? Also completely fine. I'm happy to pick children up from school before tutoring them too, if that makes your life easier.
2) Patience. I've been working with children for over 2 years now. I've seen incredible temper tantrums, I've had students who would barely be awake during lessons, and I've had a dictionary thrown at me. Obviously, I would prefer minimal book-related violence, but what I'm trying to say is that no matter how frustrated or confused you get, I will stay with you, and we will work through that problem together.
3) FUN. I really, really do love what I do, and I hope it shows. My teaching style is high-energy, and at times a little unconventional, but all I'm trying to do is help people relax and enjoy learning. We'll get the nasty grammar done too, I promise, but I refuse to spend an hour staring at a textbook with you. You can do that on your own.

I love to read, draw, listen to music, play music, watch sport, play sport, go to the theatre, visit museums and cook. I'm an animal-lover, a child-lover, and a world-lover. If we can't find SOMETHING in common to talk about, then I will give you a refund right there on the spot.
