About Me
I am happy to offer you English, French and Russian lessons.
I am a qualified teacher with 9 years` experience in Moscow, Paris and London. Additionally, I passed the CELTA course in Paris in 2013.

I am a well-organised strong classroom performer who is able to effectively communicate with students from diverse backgrounds or varying degrees of ability. By using my enthusiasm felt by learners and readiness to experiment, I can maintain a positive climate where pupils can reach their full potential. As an inspirational teacher with high personal standards, I am committed to the learning and development of my students. I have high expectations of both myself and my pupils, and show an interest in every student as an individual.

I feel that my greatest strengths are my ability to inspire a love of language in pupils, to understand and meet the needs of individual children and families, to motivate them in developing a lifelong enthusiasm for learning.

I prefer teaching language through culture, teaching with project-based learning, preparing and performing short plays during class-time. The most important duties are those of helping students to improve their conversational and Vocabulary skills, arranging interesting homework for schoolchildren, teaching grammar through conversation, giving appropriate feedback to pupils and encouraging them to ask questions and to express their difficulties, preparing students for external examinations, keeping up to date with development in the world of teaching.

I work with students of different levels (Beginner, Elementary, Pre-intermediate, Intermediate, Upper-Intermediate, Advanced) and age groups (preschool children, schoolchildren, students, adults).

I also prepare students for Cambridge (Starters, Movers, Flyers, KET, PET, FCE, IELTS/TOEFL) and Oxford (SELT) exams, IELTS Academic, General training and Life skills and GCSE in French and Russian.

Hi All,
thank you for checking out my course.

This class is open to students of all levels. Whether you are only starting to learn the wild-looking letters of the Cyrillic alphabet, or whether you are looking to practise your written and spoken Russian, I would be delighted to accompany you at any stage of your Russian-learning journey. For more advanced students, I would be happy to help you get to know one of the most defining aspects of the Russian language, namely its novels and poetry, which would be a great way to learn about the 'mysterious' Russian soul.

I believe that studying in three different countries have allowed me to try out and assess various approaches to education in general and teaching languages in particular - from the rigourous Russian system based on ensuring that the students will obtain exceptional spelling, grammar, syntax and punctuation skills, to the more relaxed yet more critical and analytical Western approach, focused on problem-solving and independent work.

You will get the benefit of a vast bank of techniques, methods and learning materials that I have developed and accumulated over the past year will be used in class to pique and maintain your interest. And since I was once a language student too, I would be able to share my personal tips and tricks with you to help you reach whatever goal you have set for yourself - be it being able to wow your friends and family by reciting a poem in the language of Dostoyevski, or impressing your future collegues with the thorough knowledge of Russian current affairs in their mother tongue!

English SL and Higher Level for the International Baccalaureate is a rigorous course, especially for ESL students. I completed the IB with HL English and received a 7 (highest mark) in my final exam. I will be able to go over both Standard Level and Higher Level syllabuses for the course specific to the material covered in your school, and prepare you for mock and final exams. I will include essay writing skills, literary criticism and analysis, as well as vocabulary expansion techniques in my teaching. A brief overview of the key features of English SL/HL as set by the International Baccalaureate Organisation:

• Higher level study requires a minimum of 240 class hours, while standard level study requires a minimum of 150 class hours
• Students study 13 works at higher level and 9 works at standard level from a representative selection of literary forms, periods and places
• Students develop the ability to engage in close, detailed analysis of literary works, building understanding of the techniques involved in literary criticism
• The study of literary works in context is emphasised, and through the study of literature in translation the student is challenged to reflect on the role of cultural assumptions in interpretation
• Students are assessed through a combination of formal examination and oral and written coursework.
• The formal examination comprises two essay papers, one requiring the analysis of a passage of unseen literary text, and the other comparative response to a question based on two works studied
• Students also perform an oral activity presenting their analysis of two works studied
• HL students comply with an additional written coursework requirement which consists of writing a 1200 - 1500 word essay on one of the works studied
