Tailoring my teaching approaches to each individual, I am confident in helping each student reach their desired goals with the violin. Whether a student is a complete beginner, or picking up the violin after many years of not playing, or a serious musician, I offer fun, encouraging, and enlightening lessons.

I also teach all styles of music genres - from Baroque/Classical/Romantic, to Folk, to Jazz, to Contemporary, and very happy to teach a broad spectrum of styles, or to focus on just one. I also have a specialism in teaching adults.

A graduate of both the Royal Academy of Music, and Royal College of Music, London, and holding both a bachelor and masters degree in violin performance, one of the most pioneering violinists of his generation, and is a sought-after soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral violinists performing with the world's finest orchestras such as The Academy of Ancient Music, Florilegium, and Brecon Baroque. Currently living in Belgium, is now offering Violin tuition for all ages, and also a niche for teaching adults of all levels and all styles.

Expérience / Qualifications

Raised in a farming background in rural Shropshire, England, Conor graduated as a Christopher Hogwood Scholarin 2020 receiving a Master’s degree in Historical Violin at the Royal College of Music with Bojan Čićič. Conor also undertook his undergraduate studies at the Royal Academy of Music where he studied underworld renowned Rachel Podger, and was a concerto soloist for Orchestre Francais Des Jeunes during this time. Conor began performing regularly with the Academy of Ancient Music, Florilegium, and also his own ensembles, Noxwode (a baroque string band), Sylvatica (an 18th-century chamber orchestra with woodwind), and Théodora (a chamber ensemble based in France specializing in 17th/18th century French repertoire), and has worked with orchestras/ensembles in Holland and in France, and was recently appointed as the new violinist for the Belgium chamber group Europa Ritrovata. Conor is featured on a number of world premiere recordings with ensembles such as The Illyrian Consort, the AAM, and The Restoration Consort, and is excited to be preparing his first solo album of 17th-century stylus fantastic Violin sonatas with Noxwode, and the esteemed keyboard player Timothy Roberts. He has performed around the world, including some of the finest venues, such as Wigmore Hall, Brugge Concertgebouw, and The Royal Chapel of Versailles. In Conor’s time at the royal college of Music, he was selected as violinist to perform a twelve concert series at the Buckingham Palace, and also the leader of the Royal College of Music’s Baroque Orchestra,for concerts both in Oxford and London, include performances of Bach’s 1st Brandenburg Concerto, a CPE Bach Symphony, and the Ascension Oratorio.

Hello,
I am a violin teacher and violinist. Having taught the violin for 20 years and knowing in depth different instrumental techniques and different teaching methods, I can adapt my teaching to the needs, age and character of each student. In addition, my educational background combined with the unique experience and knowledge given to me by my relatively recent motherhood and my love for children and other human beings, has led me to pursue positive teaching with empathy towards the student who aims to make him happy, to love music and to acquire a solid basis for his overall development! I am also able to teach with the Suzuki method. I teach children from the age of 3 and even adults. I organize concerts for my students at least twice a year. Graduated with a Master's degree in clarinet from the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, a Didactic Master's degree in clarinet and a didactic master's degree in musical training at the Royal Conservatory of Mons, I propose to give you lessons at all levels of clarinet and/or musical training. I also offer piano lessons to beginner students.
I am available every day and move to your home at your convenience.
Depending on the level and age of the students, the duration of my classes vary between 30 minutes, 1 hour and 1 hour 30 minutes.

Violinist from the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, and the IMEP of Namur, I give violin lessons at all levels, all ages, from 5 years old for children.

With several years of experience in teaching the violin, my lessons are for everyone, whatever your desires. I adapt my method according to the wish as well as the age of the student, and starting an instrument as an adult should not be a brake.
Graduated in Musicology from La Sorbonne as well as from the ULB, I also offer support courses in Musical Training, History of Music and Analysis.

An instrument lesson usually lasts one hour. If necessary, I can cut the time between Violin and Musical Training / History.

My rates are 29/hour at my home (Schaerbeek), 35 if I travel.

Are you a beginner?? No worries: no experience is required! 😁
I can teach you the basics to produce sounds with your saxophone: position of the embouchure (teeth, tongue, lips and vocal cords' position, an element often forgotten), fingerings, use of diafragma,...
After the first two lessons spent on the mouthpiece and neck for the sound production, we will immediately start to play some super easy duos together to practice your capacity of listening, pay attention to the other, ear training as well. I normally use the book of Peter Wastall (titled Learn as you play) as support, but it is not mandatory. There are plenty of good books btw!

Are you an intermediate / advanced student?? I am sure you can still improve in all the basics, but on a different level. I'll teach you the importance of the "voicing" (technique named by the american saxophonist and pedagogue Donald Sinta) to improve your sound production and projection as well as the capacity of correcting and improving the intonation. You can learn all about phrasing and music interpretation, from tonal music until contemporary atonal compositions. And still, you can improve your playing together, practicing in duo on different aspects like tuning, balance, interpretation, performance etc.

Hi! I’m Lucia, classical cellist from Madrid. I studied with international te known teachers as N. Shakhovskaya and D. Geringas, and I was working in Spain with the Spanish Radio TV orchestra, Spanish National Orchestra, OSPA, and contemporary music ensemble Plural Ensemble. Also I have teaching experience since 12 years, having worked privately and in Centro Superior Katarina Gurska.
I also play piano, I studied it since I was 3-4 years old because my father is a pianist and he was teaching me.

During my training, I had the opportunity to study with famous teachers with whom I was able to discover different violin techniques and different pedagogical approaches, which allowed me to create my own methodology. If Italy gave me the passion of sharing and communication (a typical Italian characteristic), Belgium taught me to convey a message, an idea in a concrete way. Concernant le contenu du cours je le module en fonction de vos attentes et objectifs.

Je lie systématiquement le travail concret de l'instrument ( Classique, Variété ou Jazz ) avec un apprentissage minimal des éléments de base de la pratique musicale en général : théorie de la musique, formation de l'oreille intérieure, développement de la sensibilité harmonique, mélodique et rythmique, solfège etc... Je peux volontiers aborder tout cela plus profondément à la demande de l'élève, c'est passionnant aussi vous verrez !

La première rencontre sera l'occasion de discuter de tout cela, afin de mettre en place un cadre adopté à votre profil (Jeune enfant débutant, adolescent confirmé, adulte en reprise ou autres...)

Je considère que l'essentiel est de trouver un bon équilibre entre les exigences de rigueur inévitables pour progresser dans l'apprentissage du piano et le plaisir immédiat de jouer de la musique, qu'on est en droit d'attendre d'un si bel instrument !

In my classes I aim to transmit first of all my passion and love for music.
I like to prepare a personalized programme adapted to the level and exigencies of each pupil.
I also aim to include some violin duos, to be played with me during the lessons, as I believe playing with other musicians is one of the best ways to enjoy music and learn useful musical and technical skills at the same time.
Another essential factor in my classes is correct and natural posture while playing, to let music heal our souls instead of hurting our bodies! ;) I have been practicing Yoga for a few years, and have experienced the importance of good posture and targeted light stretching, especially for younger players in a phase of growth and change.
I like to help pupils to develop good technical skills in a fun way, always applying technique to targeted repertoire and keeping in mind that technique is nothing but a means of expressing ourselves through music.

I give lessons in English, French, Italian and Spanish.
