OBJECTIVE:
To encourage and foster a more communicative approach, supported by audiovisual materials, conversation practice, role plays, videos, songs, and other activities. Our lessons are designed to focus on reading, writing, and speaking, with a particular focus on everyday life vocabulary and situations, as well as the knowledge of Hispanic cultural norms and practices as an integral part of these lessons.
CONTENTS:
1-Meeting People, and exchanging general personal information.
2-Useful practical information in Spanish: Numbers, Time, Weather, Days of the week, Months of the year, Seasons.
2-Describing people, family, and friends based on their nationalities, personalities, occupations, and physical appearance.
3-Describing actions based on everyday life situations: Daily routine, studies, work, house chores, spare time, and hobbies.
4-Describing different interesting places, and giving directions: Restaurants, hotel resorts, banks, health care facilities, schools, entertainment places, etc.
5-Culture and traditional aspects as well as popular expressions in Spanish-Speaking countries. Spanish Language in the world.
Skills Work:
• Lots of speaking, and conversational practice.
• Lots of listening.
• Lots of pronunciation.
• Immersion activities with Spanish-Speaking natives.
Materials used to spark conversation will include articles, live interviews, DVDs, videos, and internet extracts.

I am well qualified and fluent in both Spanish and English Languages, due to my condition of Cuban National and Jamaican descent. I also hold certificates in German and Russian languages. I am willing to use my professional expertise developed over a span of 30 years to help students benefit from the same and excel at their academics. I am willing to work as a part-time/full-time teacher in any Educational Institution. Also, willing to accept other challenging job roles, such as translation, as well as a Bilingual Research Assistant.

I have worked for the past twenty years mainly as a Spanish Language Lecturer at Knox Community College, where I have an outstanding record for being highly organized and dependable, teaching Basic, Intermediate, CSEC, and CAPE Spanish to Hospitality, Business, and Environmental students. Occasionally I have also taught other subjects, such as General Biology, Psychology, Social Sciences, and Communication. I am willing to accept challenging job roles, such as translation, copyediting, proofreading, as well as a Bilingual Research Assistant.
My teaching approach is the Communicative Method, supported by audiovisual materials, conversation practice, role plays, videos, songs, and other activities. I conduct both one-on-one and group tutoring lessons focusing on reading, writing and speaking, with a particular focus on everyday life vocabulary and situations.
