In my classes, you can learn how to play the Chinese bamboo flute (dizi) or xiao. If you’re interested in orchestral conducting or music theory, I also offer related courses. Bamboo Flute Course: You will learn how to play the Chinese bamboo flute and continuously improve your performance skills throughout the course. You can choose to learn the bamboo flute or xiao and play classical pieces or your favorite songs. Orchestral Conducting: If you need to prepare for related exams or are interested in orchestral conducting, I can help you prepare the necessary repertoire through score reading, analysis, and conducting techniques during the course. Hello, My name is Joris, I'm a saxophonist and conductor. As a saxophonist I obtained a Master degree with great distinction from the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel, won the second prize at the national Lion's European Music Competition and already played as a soloist with orchestras like the Royal Symphonic Band of the Belgian Guides. I'm currently following a Master degree in Music Theory and Conducting at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel. I started conducting when I was 18 and highlights of my career thus far include a selection as one of only 24 candidates for the conducting contest at the World Music Contest Kerkrade last summer. Furthermore I have had the opportunity to work with professional orchestra's like MAV Symphony in Budapest, the North Czech Philharmonic, the President's Own United States Marine Band, the Belgrade Chamber Orchestra amongst others. I completed my undergraduate studies in conducting at Seoul National University in Korea, where I studied under Professor Emeritus Hun-Joung Lim. He is highly regarded as the only conductor in Korea who has performed the complete symphonies of Mahler and Bruckner, as well as many challenging and lesser-known repertoires. Under his guidance, I was able to significantly expand my repertoire and deepen both my musical knowledge and artistic vision. Currently, I am pursuing my master’s degree in conducting under the Professor Marc Piollet at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz, Austria. My lessons are mainly offered online and cover a wide range of topics: from basic conducting techniques to musical interpretation, conducting methods, and the professional attitude required of a conductor.
