Now that I am back in the Netherlands, I want to help people who want to learn the Dutch language. Whether you want to learn Dutch for personal reasons or for the "inburgeringsexamen," I want to help by offering relaxed and conversation-based classes at your own pace.

I am a Dutch-American citizen currently living in Amsterdam. Born in the Netherlands, I moved to Atlanta, Georgia when I was 8 years old and lived there until I moved back to Holland 2 years ago.

Knowing how important English is for the modern-day world, I strive to teach my students my language in a clear and fun way. I am available to all class levels. Whether you want to learn to write functional business emails, master English grammar, or just practice your conversational skills, my class caters to all.

Following a proven method and integrating practical learning goals.
Lessons are given at Basic and Intermediate level.
Through an intake your level will be checked.
What do we do in the beginners course: Block 1 in ten lessons.
How to introduce yourself,spell your name and address, Dutch alphabet,numbers, days, months, seasons,
Verbs and word order, how to make sentences,, how to pose questions,, articles,plural forms,opposites,
Food and drinks, pronuncation, Quiz about the Netherlands'
Integrating the Dutch Culture and habits

Are you taking VWO or Havo exams this year? Dutch is the stumbling block. Practicing on a high level also guarantees better results for other subjects (Biology, Mathematics, Physics, classical & modern foreign languages, Art, Social Sciences, etc.). Also supervision of profile assignment and preparation (oral) Literature.
Possibly also E-learning; check / discuss / supervise training online / via FaceTime.
For lessons on location (at home with student or elsewhere), price is ex. travel expenses.
Training can also be done together with others; you then pay every proportional part of the hourly rate. Shown packages of 5 or 10 lessons indicate price per person for group lessons at 5 resp. 10 students.
Other (lower) combination rates are possible, in consultation.

During our lessons I will explain how to deal with such issues and show you that Dutch is actually quite a structured language and a lot less complicated that often suggested.

I am a positive and optimistic person and this is also how I teach. I focus on how to do things right rather than wasting energy on why things are wrong. This creates a nice learning atmosphere and it also makes the course much more productive. I like to have an open communication with my students and encourage them to let me know what their difficulties are and what they want to improve.

When learning a language it is very important that you can quickly put into practice what you have learned. This naturally motivates you to learn more. For that reason I find it important that it is clear from the beginning what the language needs and wishes of my students are so we can work towards your goals in an effective way and make sure you are able to apply what you have learned as soon as possible.

The reason why I like teaching so much is because I enjoy showing people what they are capable of and to help them develop their skills. Another reason is that it allowes me to open the door for you to a great language and culture!

I have successfully completed 6 VWO and passed an English Cambridge exam.
Currently, I am a law student with a passion for languages, geology and history and I like to share the knowledge - in peace and with full understanding of the student - and together I look for the best method to make this work!

I have been working as a tutor for primary and secondary school students for more than 5 years and have experience with people / children who have difficult learning, have little motivation or where the penny has just not yet fallen.
