I am currently doing a jazz master at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, after obtaining my classical bachelor at the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague. I have been playing cello for 19 years. Over the years I played in various settings: chamber music (small ensembles like trios, quartet), bands (new music), solo and orchestras such as the Nationaal Jeugdorkest and Jong Metropole (national youth jazz orchestra). I love to play classical music but also some jazz, funk or pop! I like to play with people, create music together, improvise... And I hope this is something I can also pass on to my students! Since 6 years I am teaching all kind of people: all ages, all level, in different languages, individual or in groups... So don't be afraid to have a try! I can teach in english and french, and if your level is not fluent we will always find a way to communicate! I teach in The Hague, Amsterdam or online and I can come to your place to teach! I always thought about how the ancient Greeks introduced Music as an essential subject in school. Music was to heal, to entertain, to get to know yourself more. I'm just finished my studies in the University of Arts of Codarts (Rotterdam) and I can't deny I will always keep learning after finishing my degree. I'm looking forward to sharing some knowledge and to hear what you already know. What can i offer? Styles that we can work on: Classical, Folk, Jazz, Pop music. Languages that we can speak in the lesson: Dutch, English, Catalan or/and Spanish Skills that we can work on: basic techniques, jazz and folk techniques, play the cello while singing, percussion on the cello. How do I work? Each class will be individually prepared, in order to have the student goals in mind. For BEGINNERS I teach the bow, finger positions and other basics with easy songs (with kids I add games to make it more entreating). I have been taking lessons from Teodora for a while now and she is a very friendly and warm person, as well as a very good cello teacher that knows how to create a pleasant, comfortable atmosphere. I play cello as a hobby and for me it was very important to find a teacher that can adapt to my level. And Teodora does exactly that, I don't feel pressured and have enjoyed every lesson that I had until now. Her technique, style, and way of playing the cello, show that the she has great and in depth knowledge of playing the cello. Thus, for those of you that are playing professionally or aiming do to so, I think that Teodora has much to offer. So check her out, she is amazing.

As a cello amateur , i am striving to constantly learn to play better! when i arrived in Rotterdam a few months ago, i needed guidance to continue practicing . Flavia is the perfect person for this. She is an accomplished musician and artist. She can speak about composition, context of a piece, expression etc.., and at the same time, go also into elaborated technical cello advice. We had Elsa in for a lesson as my son's usual cello teacher was not feeling well. Elsa was prompt in responding, punctual and most importantly, taught my son effectively. We are very happy with her and will not hesitate to call on her the next time we need her assistance again.
