Trusted teacher: After successfully completing his music studies (Music Bachelor), he won a grant from the Brazilian government and emigrated to the Netherlands to take up postgraduate studies at the Rotterdam Conservatory with Prof. Vladimir Mendelssohn. He received his Masters in Solo Performance and Chamber Music with Honors. His diverse musical activities have taken him - both as a soloist, chamber musician and teacher - on concert tours to Brazil, Portugal, France, Germany, Austria, Eastern Europe, North Africa and Asia. Jadenir lived in Vienna from 2007 to 2016. There he performed between 2005 and 2010 as principal violist of the “Spirit of Europe” chamber orchestra, in which he was also a member of the artistic advisory board and was involved in planning-relevant decisions on artistic and organizational issues. He also played in the RSO Vienna and the Ambassade Orchestra Vienna. Jadenir has lived and worked in Berlin since 2016. With chamber music as the center of his life, he founded several ensembles with different line-ups in 2017. In addition to his artistic activity, viola lessons have been an important part of his life for many years. As a viola teacher, he has been in close contact with music festivals and music schools since 2007, especially those that are dedicated to social projects. About my viola lessons I offer dynamic and playful lessons. The goal of my lessons is to break the barrier between music and technology, so these are not taught separately from each other. Rather, I see technology as the merging of movement, breathing and sound. Beginners and advanced learners of all ages from 10 years are welcome. I convey all kinds of music, their style and technique. I am happy to help advanced students prepare for entrance exams, auditions, auditions and competitions. I also offer coaching for chamber music ensembles. The key to successful viola lessons lies in a transparent and open exchange: I therefore encourage the students to share their needs and expectations; and the family is also involved in their musical development. My two main instruments were made especially for me and I was able to exchange ideas with the violin makers during the instrument making, which gave me extensive knowledge of the manufacture, setup and care of a string instrument. I am also happy to pass on my knowledge to my students in this area. Because with the growing understanding of the acoustics of the viola, one's own playing technique and trust in the instrument develop. English, Portuguese, Spanish or Italian are also possible as the language of instruction.

The talking and theory is secondary, most important is to play and then see how to listen and adapt from there. My students have fun, they enjoy our lessons, otherwise they don't practise and make progress :) It is important that our lesson is making you more independant and secure to play and understand music on your own! I have teaching experiences since fourteen years, I studied music education, piano, harpsichord which I will use for your understanding. This year I will only focus on teaching people over 12 years old. If you live 15minutes by bike from me, there is the possibility to come to your home. Trusted teacher: My main teaching philosophy is to teach students to play the music they enjoy. It sounds like a no-brainer but I have had teachers in the past who only showed me songs that they enjoyed or used method books that teach you "Mary Had A Little Lamb" or "Hot Crossed Buns" (and if you like those songs then we can learn those). All that to say, whatever the student's goal on the instrument, I will take them step by step until they reach it. For a beginning musician, the fundamentals of the instrument are given the highest priority: how to tune your instrument, names of all the notes, essential chords, basic strumming, playing in time, and understanding basic rhythm. For someone who already plays but needs a little help getting out of the rut, we'll spend time fixing bad technical habits, hammering home the fundamentals, expanding their repertoire, and slowly moving outside of the comfort zone to new horizons. With advanced players, listening (ear training), transcribing, song analysis, exploring advanced theory concepts, and focusing on composition and improvisation are most important. With all levels of students, I make playlists that I update after each lesson so they can hear real examples of what we are covering, as well as provide detailed written notes in TAB and standard notation so they can refer to everything we covered and know what to practice. Also, it's fun!

Trusted teacher: My name is Fadi, a Palestinian raised in Dubai who has also lived in Palestine and Jordan. I specialize in teaching the Levantine Arabic variety. So, what is "Levantine"? It refers to the historic region of the Levant, which includes Palestine, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, and the Hatay province of Turkey. Levantine Arabic is the spoken language of region—a "language variety" in linguistic terms. It is the language of daily life, workplaces, and professional settings across the Levant. It is only replaced by Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) in formal contexts like news broadcasts, political speeches, and religious sermons. Whether you're ordering hummus in Damascus, in a meeting in Beirut, or want to express solidarity, or seeking to connect with Arabic communities in Europe, you will use Levantine Arabic. A key advantage is its widespread understandability. Most Arabic speakers from other regions, like Yemen, Egypt, and Tunisia, understand Levantine Arabic, though the reverse is not always true. This makes it a powerful tool for communication across the entire Arab world. As the Levantine Arabic Wikipedia page states, it is "one of the two prestige varieties of spoken Arabic comprehensible all over the Arab world." In my teaching, I prioritize natural pronunciation and phonology. Arabic, including the Levantine variety, uses vowel changes to convey grammar, such as indicating gender. I find that dedicating significant time to sounds profoundly accelerates skill development. The good news is that Levantine grammar is far simpler and less demanding than MSA or Classical Arabic. You can learn to use it confidently in a short time, unlike MSA, which requires a large time investment for limited daily use. (Note: Classical Arabic remains essential for Quranic or Islamic studies). My students in Germany and Europe include binational children, adult learners, and heritage speakers seeking to connect with family and community. Many have successfully bonded with local Palestinian and Syrian communities. My method includes post-lesson voice recordings for reference and a free, custom-designed booklet covering grammar, phonology, and expressions. I adapt to visual or auditory learning preferences to craft the most efficient path to fluency. I primarily use a Latin transliteration system, but I also offer tutoring in reading and writing the Arabic script in the beautiful Naskh font, upon request.

I’m so lucky that I was able to have lessons with Jack during my time in Berlin! He creates such a supportive environment for learning — laid back and calm, yet totally professional. After years of me struggling independently with a few pieces, he was able to show me new ways of approaching the music that transformed even the hardest parts into something accessible. He has a lovely and genuine way of offering encouragement / recognizing progress, while still keeping track of the underlying objective; a more far-reaching arc of improvement.
