Trusted teacher: Your child has difficulty with math, physics, chemistry or natural sciences. It cannot process the subject matter and you want to do something about it. As a teacher (engineer with a certificate of pedagogical competence), I have been teaching mathematics, physics, chemistry and natural sciences in secondary education for 25 years. I am an independent teacher in secondary occupation and recognized by the Flemish Community. Because of my experience and empathy I can make the abstract terminology and exercises that your child does not understand anything understandable. I tutor students from secondary education to higher education students. From Pythagoras to quadratic equations, logarithmic and exponential functions, limits, derivatives, integrals, ... Everything is possible! Students preparing for the examination board often experience problems in the subjects of mathematics, chemistry or physics. Through intensive guidance I can greatly increase the chances of success. I have a lot of experience with the online course of "Inzicht", Geogebra, interpreting subject sheets, ... The tutoring can take place both on weekdays and in the weekend. Students with dyscalculia are remedied by practicing the subject matter, using tips, mnemonics and a lot of patience. Experience shows that the way of mathematical thinking in dyscalculia is different and therefore requires a more structured, step-by-step approach. References are available. The tutoring sessions are given online every day via Zoom. Zoom has a handy online board where we can write at the same time. It is as if we are sitting next to each other and writing on the same sheet of paper. If you would like tutoring, please download the Zoom app and send me the email address you linked to it.

Trusted teacher: I am 22 years old from Indonesia, and I am currently studying theoretical physics for my Master's degree at Heidelberg University. I speak (almost) fluent English, but unfortunately not German at the moment (although I am learning :D). Therefore, I will only be able to tutor in English (it could be a great idea for students who want to practice English themselves). I will be understanding in the fact that the language is not the mother tongue of the student's, so don't be shy :) As someone who is passionate about physics, I can help students to discover the fun in learning physics, that it's definitely not about memorizing the formula. During the lesson, my first goal would be to help students understand the concepts of the topic they are studying. In my attempt to do so, I will try my best to explain the concepts in the most intuitive way possible so that students can easily grasp them. After having understood the concepts, I will guide them on how think about it mathematically, hence arriving at some formulas. Therefore, they will not view the mathematical formulas in physics as simply some maths equation, but rather as something that represents meaning. Then the next obvious steps after this would be to discuss exercise problems, which will further enhance their understanding. But of course the lessons need not follow exactly the above mentioned steps; it can be very flexible and we will find the best method to help the students thrive on the subject. As a student who studies theoretical physics in the Masters level, I have dealt with some quite advanced level of mathematics, and in the process have picked up several neat tricks. Therefore I am also able to help students who are struggling in mathematics.

I studied Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering at Bath University. During my studies, I spent a year working on CERN: The Large Hadron Collider and was awarded the "Inspirational Leader" award by my university Since then, I have tutored mathematics and physics to a large number of international students in Geneva, London, and online. I have tutored privately and also onsite at two international schools: College du Leman in Versoix and St Dunstan's College in London. I love to learn, and if I can help someone enjoy learning as well, that is amazing. My goal is to continue to grow as a person and as a professional. I want to continue to expand my understanding of math and technology. I especially enjoy simulating and modeling engines and drivetrains. We are just getting started, but our experiences with Oliver have been great so far. He is prompt to communicate, professional and very patient. He does a good job of understanding where my daughter is, helping her at her level, and not making her feel bad that she is having a tough time with Math. Highly recommend!
