Some say that I have travelled here from Ancient Rome to help bring the Latin language back to life. "But", you say, "Latin is dead and has been for 1.5 millenia!" If that's what you think, let me change your mind! =) I offer classes for all levels and topics, including but not limited to: ◈ Latin for complete beginners taught through guided reading and discussion, with a minimum of translation. Or the traditional Italian (aka Ecclesiastical), or the Germanic-Slavic, or even the Middle French pronunciation - whatever takes your fancy :-) ◈ conversational Latin and composition practice. 💡 About me and my lessons: I've long been part of the international community of Latin speakers, have produced videos in Latin and resources for learning it, as well co-authoring a graded poetry reader "Erictho: Tartarorum Terror" aimed at students who wish to transition away from reading adapted texts and tackle authentic poetry without the help of dictionaries or translation. Thanks to my deep interest in phonetics and phonology, I have put major emphasis on researching, modelling and teaching the sounds and rhythms of Republican Latin speech in order to make Latin poetry and prose sound the way the authors intended. I teach Latin through Latin using the singular series "Lingua Latina Per Se Illustrata" as well as various adapted and authentic texts. The goal of my lessons is simple: holistic acquisition of the language in order to allow you, the learner, to read Latin fluently, understand it at a deep level, and be able to communicate in it should the opportunity arise.
