I am a scientist by training and studied at Oxford and received my PhD from Cambridge. I currently work as a research scientist at Utrecht University and teach Dutch in my spare time. I have a passion for learning Dutch and finding hidden connections across languages, which I share with others. I am a native English speaker and very competent Dutch speaker (C1 level) - so I have personal experience of learning Dutch as an adult (and the challenges faced).

Dutch is not an easy language. Certainly not if it is not the first language you learn.

To make yourself understood, it is often easiest to fall back on English, but this stagnates your process of mastering the Dutch language.

During this coaching session we lay a foundation. We map out your request for help and together we draw up a plan of action. The most important thing is that you feel at ease, that you enjoy the learning process and that you make progress with your language skills.
