Meditation for Makers and Performers: Mental Clarity Techniques from Creative Practice
From 25.82 £ /h
Most meditation classes teach you to sit still and empty your mind. That's not what this is.
This class teaches meditation as a creative tool — specifically for people who make things, perform, build, and think for a living. The techniques here come from insight and manifestation practices, but I teach them through the lens of creative and technical work: how to enter a flow state deliberately, how to move through creative blocks, how to perform under pressure without freezing, and how to separate signal from noise when you're deep in a project.
I've been practicing these techniques for years alongside live performance work — combining biofeedback, live electronic music, and real-time visual systems in front of audiences. The overlap between meditation and performance is not metaphorical. Attention control, state management, and intentional focus are literal performance skills. I teach them that way.
What you'll learn:
Insight meditation: how to observe your own thought patterns without getting caught in them — essential for debugging creative blocks
Manifestation as a design tool: using structured visualisation to clarify what you're actually trying to build or create before you start
Breath and body-state techniques for entering deep focus on demand
How to use these practices before a performance, a difficult meeting, a creative session, or a period of intense output
Building a personal practice that fits around an irregular, project-driven life — not a 6am routine designed for someone else
Who this is for:
Makers, developers, designers, musicians, performers, founders, and anyone whose work requires sustained creative attention. People who've tried meditation apps and found them too passive or too generic. People who want practical tools, not spirituality.
Not for: People looking for traditional mindfulness or religious practice. This is applied technique.
Taught in: English (Dutch available)
Format: 1-on-1, we start from where you are and build a practice around your actual working life
You'll need: Nothing. Just show up.

Extra information
Tell me a bit about your work and creative practice before we start — the techniques I emphasise are different for a solo developer vs a live performer vs a founder managing a team.

About Me
Hello! I'm Wingston and I'm passionate about exploring the fascinating intersections of technology, creativity, and mindfulness. I love guiding others on their learning journeys, whether that involves diving deep into code, crafting stunning visuals, or cultivating inner awareness.
With a background in software development, I've spent a lot of time working with various technologies. On my GitHub profile, you can see some of my hands-on projects involving Java, Python, C++, and embedded systems, including explorations in computer vision with OpenCV, machine learning concepts like EEG classifiers and face recognition, and various application development examples. This practical experience forms the foundation of how I teach my technical courses.
I'm excited to help you learn and create in areas like:
* **Unreal Engine Basics for Cinematography and Digital Motion VFX:** I'll help you tap into real-time rendering to bring your cinematic visions and visual effects to life.
* **TouchDesigner - Learn to Create Interactive Audio-Visual Experiences:** Together, we'll turn your creative ideas into responsive installations and captivating generative art.
* **Learn about Artificial Intelligence and How to Leverage Machine Learning in Your Everyday Life:** Drawing from my own projects in ML and computer vision, I aim to make AI approachable and show you its practical power.
* **Ableton Live, Push 3 - Live Performance as an Artform:** I'm keen to share how you can use these amazing tools to craft expressive and engaging live electronic music performances.
* **Insight and Manifestation Meditation Techniques:** Alongside my technical interests, I deeply value the power of meditation. I can guide you in techniques to cultivate self-awareness and focused intention, which I believe are invaluable for both creative work and personal well-being.
My approach is about blending practical skills with a broader understanding, whether we're debugging code or exploring meditative states. I believe that technology and mindfulness can beautifully complement each other, fostering both innovation and personal growth. I'm here to offer a supportive and credible learning environment, and I look forward to helping you master new skills and unlock your potential!

You make music. You perform live. But your visuals are an afterthought — a YouTube loop, a static backdrop, or nothing at all.
This class teaches you to build real-time visuals that react to your actual audio, in sync, live on stage. We use TouchDesigner — the industry tool behind installations at Sónar, ADE, and major touring acts — but we approach it entirely from the musician's side. No graphic design background needed. No prior coding required.
I've been performing live electronic music in Amsterdam for years, combining biofeedback signals, Ableton Live, and TouchDesigner into a single unified performance system. I'll teach you the workflow I actually use.
What you'll learn:
How TouchDesigner thinks (nodes, networks, signal flow) — from zero
Connecting Ableton Live to TouchDesigner via OSC/MIDI so your visuals respond to your music in real time
Building your first audio-reactive patch: beat detection, frequency bands, amplitude mapping
Controlling visual parameters with gestures, MIDI controllers, or your instrument
Structuring a full performance patch you can actually take to a show
Who this is for:
Electronic musicians, DJs, live performers, and producers who want to stop separating their sound from their visuals. Also great for VJs who want to work more closely with musicians.
Taught in: English (Dutch available)
Format: 1-on-1, fully hands-on, we work on your actual setup from session one
You'll need: A laptop with TouchDesigner installed (free license available), and Ableton Live or any DAW with MIDI/OSC output

Everyone is talking about AI. Most people are still just typing into ChatGPT and hoping for the best.
This class is for professionals, creatives, and curious people who want to actually understand how AI works — and use it as a real tool in their work. Not prompt tricks. Not another subscription app. Real, practical literacy that gives you control.
I've spent 15+ years building machine learning infrastructure at scale — recommendation systems, ranking models, large-scale data pipelines — at companies including Booking.com. I now run my own AI systems locally, build agents that automate real workflows, and teach governance frameworks to organisations navigating AI adoption. I know both the engineering side and the human side of this technology.
What we cover — tailored to your situation:
How AI models actually work (without the math) — what they can and can't do, and why
How to use AI tools effectively in your specific profession or creative practice
How to evaluate AI output critically — spotting hallucinations, bias, and overconfidence
What "running your own AI" means and whether it makes sense for you
Automation: how to build simple AI workflows that save you real time
AI governance basics: what the EU AI Act means for your work, your organisation, or your clients
Who this is for:
Professionals who work with or alongside AI tools and want to understand what they're actually dealing with. Creatives, freelancers, small business owners, managers, researchers. Anyone who feels like they're falling behind and wants to get genuinely ahead.
Not for: Developers looking for a coding bootcamp. This is literacy and applied use, not engineering.
Taught in: English (Dutch available)
Format: 1-on-1, sessions structured around your actual work and questions — not a generic slide deck
You'll need: A laptop and a specific context you want to apply AI to. The more concrete your situation, the more useful the session.
