About Me
I am passionate about teaching and want to inspire my students as well as teach them about the violin and music in general. I think it is also important to teach students about how to practice so that when they come to a lesson they can get the best benefit.
Education
ABOUT ME
I began studying violin with my father at the age of 5. I can't remember why it was the violin that I wanted to learn but I was attracted to it and begged to get one. As I advanced, my father got me a teacher at the University. This meant I would need to practice more and perform in recitals. It was great to meet other kids who played too and it kept me on my toes.
I began playing in school orchestras and attended summer music festivals and camps from the age of 12. Playing with others inspired me to keep practicing and it was just a lot of fun.I think its important to have that interest and I like to keep my students excited about learning too. By the time I was 13, I played in the orchestras of NC STATE UNIVERSTIY AND THE UNC ORCHESTRA IN Chapel Hill. I was in the all city orchestra, was chosen for all state orchestra each year and for college I studied at the NC School of the Arts with Erick Friedman as well as Elaine Richie. I later studied with Andrew Also who in earlier years had played with the NBC Symphony orchestra under the baton Arturo Toscanini.
Experience / Qualifications
My experiences include playing in the Atlanta Chamber Orchestra, winning a concerto competition and playing the Bruch Violin concerto in G minor with the Columbus Symphony as well as doing studio work and playing with Barry White. I attended Chatuaqua Music festival for three years on scholarship while in college. While in University I had a string quartet that performed around the state of Georgia for various occasions. I got married straight from college and came to Live in Bahrain where I still reside. Here, I am teaching and playing in the Bahrain Philharmonic.
