About Me

Hi there, I'm Lauren! I'm 19 years old and have just recently left school. I have had plenty of experience tutoring younger children specialising in a range of subjects from instrumental music, music theory, primary and ks3 Maths and English. I believe in short but effective bursts of studying and often tutor in sessions that are compatible with the students' age. This keeps them energised and focused throughout the whole lesson. I also believe firmly in completing past papers as early as possible and as regularly as possible. This ensures that there are no surprises when the time comes to take the actual exams and students are completely relaxed when they enter the hall. Regular correspondence with the parents is also something I believe is very important.

Education

Currently on a Gap year after finishing school. 8A*s/As, 2Bs at GCSE and studied Maths, Music and Classical Civilisation at A-Level. Attended Highgate Senior School.

Experience / Qualifications

I have helped numerous younger students during my time as a Sixth Form student whether it's for their homework or they need some additional help. I will also be working as a Junior Support Assistant at my junior school and will therefore have plenty of experience with assisting those between the ages of 7 and 11. I'm also a regular babysitter of 5 charges for roughly 2 years now. Volunteered at Ashmount Primary School and St Michaels Primary School to watch over the Nursery Class. Elected as a Year 7 prefect for the two years of Sixth Form (responsibilities included ensuring good behaviour and social interaction). Loved by the class so much so that I was gifted at Xmas and my birthday! DBS certificate holder.

Marco
Teaching Primary School Maths - for any age and ability
Maths is one of the most important subjects that you study in school. Every new year brings new challenges and concepts that build on what you already know. Being successful at secondary school will require a solid foundation of primary school maths. This can be difficult but I truly believe that anyone can feel confident with years 1-6 maths. My name is Marco and I've enjoyed learning maths throughout my time in school. I achieved a grade 9 (A*) at GCSE and am predicted an A* in A-Level Maths. I have offers to study Economics at UCL, Kings College London, Queen Mary's and The University of Bristol. I have experience teaching from when I volunteered as a tutor for the charity, Maths on Toast and would love to continue helping out.

Edoardo
Enthusiastic tutor in economics, maths and Italian
Hello, everyone! My name is Edoardo. I received my master's degree in International Finance and Economic Development from the University of Kent, and I have experience in business intelligence consultancy and sales & marketing. I taught as a private tutor for five years in subjects such as economics, maths, Italian, English, and guitar to middle school, high school, and university students. I tutor students at all levels of education (including Primary, KS3, IB, GCSE, A-level, and Undergraduate Degree) and adults. My teaching is results-oriented and focuses towards a precise goal (such as an exam), but I am also very keen on making people passionate about their studies. I would be delighted to answer any questions and offer clarification outside of lessons' time too. If you are looking for a professional, dedicated, and friendly teacher, I am the one for you! See you soon!

Private lessons in mathematics and physics. Secondary and university level.
I also give private lessons to upper and secondary students. I adapt to the demand and level of each student. I can follow the school / university program or push beyond. I prefer a classical education: 1) understanding of the subject and its importance in the field of study or in everyday life 2) illustration by examples 3) exercises allowing to assimilate well and finally to master the subject I attach great importance to understanding and logical reasoning. I progress with the student by also making him work outside contact hours if he wishes

Tutoring / math lessons, open to all ages!
Elementary, secondary and CEGEP math courses. Explanation of concepts less well understood by the student and moral support and motivation in order to support him as much as possible in his studies! Good command of mathematics and preparation of the course before each meeting!

Mathematics courses (mainly) and support
Hello! I offer math lessons for various levels. Mainly for gymnasium / college or cycle students (but also for first semester Bachelor students (for example) or medical students, etc ...). I would also be happy to prepare a course on certain subjects if the student is interested and wants to tackle new subjects or branch of mathematics as far as possible (for mathematical culture or simply out of interest)! I prioritize reasoning in teaching, I think that doing without understanding is not very productive I can also provide support in physics. I hope to meet many students in need, and look forward to it! :) “It is with logic that we prove and with intuition that we find.” - Henri Poincaré. As for me, I graduated and am a math student. I am in Lausanne, but can travel to Geneva on weekends.

I contact the teachers for each subject the student has, to ensure that the material that is being covered in the tutoring session is the exact same as that of the class. My students immediately see a noticeable improvement in their grades as the I help them to focus on time management skills as well. I focus on enhancing study skills and encourage the students to become autonomous learners that strive for academic excellence.

A Maths teacher teaches Maths, Algebra and Geometry
An experienced teacher at your disposal for: - Methodology adapted to all levels. - Upgrading. - Consolidation of achievements. - Preparation for an examination / competition (CEB, CE1D, CESS.etc). - Help with homework and lessons. - Complementary exercises and review as controls and exams approach. - Advice and supervision at the level of working methods. - Recommended teaching methods. Currently, I am doing my maths aggregation. I am already an electromechanical engineer, graduated as a senior technician in electronics and electrical engineering and who passed my bachelor's degree in mathematics with honors. I teach in different technical fields and especially mathematics, algebra and electronics. At the level of my teaching methods, I use those that are advised pedagogically, I always try to explain and detail as much as possible the courses and I do not pass to the following stages until after making sure that the student understood what I explained. As a teacher, I already have a good teaching experience with students since 4 years. What is certain, I make sure to always go as far as possible to explain the exercises.

Mathematics Course Gymnasium Level Maturity Path & 1st year of higher studies with EPFL Certified Tutor
I help you succeed in your math exams by targeting fundamental concepts and typical examples from your math lessons to prepare you for your graduate studies. Since 2019, I have had the opportunity to support seven mature students (from 1st to 3rd year) and 5 students in the first year of university studies (EPFL and HEC) in their understanding of mathematics and in passing their exams. This allowed me to understand the main issues they were facing and to respond to them effectively. With the mathematics programs of the three years of the Matura School and the first year of graduate school being busy, it can happen that teachers present new concepts too quickly or that you have several projects to submit simultaneously, which forces you to to leave out some important mathematics chapters. _________________________________________________________________ Our goal is to rework the parts of the program that give you the most difficulty: ➡️ Elementary logic and sets ➡️ Algebra Trigonometry ➡️ Geometry ➡️ Descriptive statistics ➡️ Analysis ➡️ Combinatorial analysis and probabilities ➡️ Complex numbers ➡️ Linear algebra _________________________________________________________________ For this, I use the methodology that I followed during my 5 years at EPFL: 1️⃣ Revision of the theoretical notions and concepts of the problematic chapter in order to assess the strengths and gaps in your understanding. 2️⃣ A practical part focused on solving exercises with an emphasis on: ➡️ a clear and complete establishment of the problems, ➡️ evaluation of your methodology. ➡️ illustrative examples. 3️⃣ A review of what has been done and feedback on the positive aspects and those that still need to be worked on.

Math (SAT, SAT subject tests, A level, GCSE, Calculus 1-2), Physics (SAT subject test, A level, GCSE, Fundamentals of physics), English
I help student with finding their own way of understanding the logic behind mathematics and physics. From where and how to derive formulas and work with given problems without even meeting them before. My way of teaching English is different from a standard English courses. I work more on boosting self confidence of a student, as an English speaker, rather than concentrating on grammar of the Language.

Mathematics, Statistics, Python and R Programming Tutoring
Maths and statistics can be scary but they are undoubtedly extremely important. Unfortunately, students are often overwhelmed by technical terminology and formulas that apparently are of no use. My goal is to demystify mathematics and statistics, making them closer to your daily life and/or area of expertise. Discipline, accessibility, and (why not?) a bit of fun are key factors to an effective and long-lasting learning process!

Mathematics courses - middle school and high school student all streams
Three principles govern my teaching: - Taking into account the student's expectations and educational dialogue - A very personalized follow-up: exercise on the chapters that the pupil does not yet master very well. - The structuring of my lessons: I work several hours before each lesson. Many students experience learning math as a compulsory chore that must be passed in order to be successful. If its need is not to be called into question, it is necessary to rehabilitate the playful aspect of teaching in mathematics so that the pupil learns more easily!
