Flute lesson in Brussels for beginner and intermediate students

- Courses offered in English and/or French. - Exploration of pieces belonging to the 4 main movements of classical music: baroque, classical, romantic and contemporary. - Development of technique, notably sound (tone and vibrato) as well as breathing. - More modern approach, i.e. lessons focused less on music theory and more on musical sensitivity as well as technique, which, I find, are essential to fully experience the happiness provided by music. - If you have a piano at home, I would be happy to accompany you so that you can discover chamber music as well as the techniques necessary for playing in a duo. It's another way of experiencing the transverse flute which is very fun and interesting for your musical development. - All levels welcome! My primary goal is to make you love your classes; I therefore adapt to you, your desires and your needs.

I propose to give flute lessons for all levels, children or adults, for all styles as well as music theory. My goal for the student to be as high as possible and satisfied with a knowledge of musical notes.

I take care of my students. I like to think of teachers as, in some way, caregivers. My experience giving flute lessons has taught me that often, problems are created by our own minds, and that it is easy to trick our brains into rebooting us, following the right advice from the right person. Hello everyone!:) My name is Monika and I’m a 2nd year student at Royal Conservatory in Brussels. I love to work with people and share my knowledge that I gained throughout the years by attending a lot of lessons and masterclasses with great professors. If you would like to start playing flute or develop your flute playing I would love to help you and share everything that I learned:). We can work with different repertoire, the most important thing is to find one that suits you the most and one that you have the most fun with! I speak English but if there are any Polish people here I would love to give lessons in polish also!:)

We will explore the most important pieces of the Flute repertoire. After years of experience and a degree in teaching musical instrument, I can help you for your exams and auditions with a personalized method and appropriate strategies. Particular attention will be dedicated to the sound production and the different aspects of the instrumental technique, without overlooking the expressiveness of the Music for a very professional way of playing! For beginners: prior knowledge is not necessarily required... We can start from zero both in Flute and in Music Theory!

I offer private flute lessons at home, from beginner to advanced level, for all ages. I have a degree in Pedagogy and Didactics (Royal Conservatory of Mons), Transverse Flute (Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel) and Piccolo (Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel). In September 2023 I won 2nd prize at the Gazzelloni International Flute Competition, and from August 2024 I am part of the Académie de la Monnaie / De Munt and the National Orchestra of Belgium, with whom I will play several concerts during the 2024/2025 season. A brief overview of my teaching experience: - From December 2023 to April 2024, I completed 90 hours of internship at the Music Academies of Braine L'Alleud and Auderghem. - Since September 2022, I have been teaching flute at the European School of Brussels. - From 2021 to 2022, I taught flute, musical initiation and piano in a private music school in Waterloo. - In July 2020 I obtained my teaching qualification in Italy by obtaining the 24 CFU required for teaching in Pedagogy, Psychology of Learning and Assessment Methods and Techniques. - From 2015 to 2017 I assisted my former teacher Vincenzo Gallo at the "G. Nicolini" conservatory in Piacenza for 2 years as a class tutor. I find teaching very stimulating and exciting, so please feel free to contact me or share this information with anyone interested!

The flute is a very delicate and "light" instrument but is much more than that! With this lessons I want to share my knowledge about this amazing instrument. I will adapt myself to the level of the different students and will also adjust my way of teaching. We can work on sound, embochure, posture, music theory, studies and for sure melodies and even duets! I have experience in different styles such as barroque music, classical, romantique, comtemporary, chôrinho, etc... (we can choose what fits you better, or maybe do them all!). Turkish reed flute is an essential instrument of Turkish Classcial Music. It has a deep and dense culture dating from 13. century around. If you want to learn about how to perform it you first need a teacher educated by masters on this field. As of many teachers you can find online but you make sure that not every tutor meets with traditional style. Solfege and method are inseperable parts of the lessons. So for beginners and intermediate students must follow a compotent tutor to learn about the way of classic form.

Chris is a New York City-based multi-instrumentalist. A passionate composer and improviser, he has performed as a leader and sideman throughout New York, Boston, Colorado and abroad over the past 15 years. Chris attended the Manhattan School of Music (MM ‘25) and the New England Conservatory of Music (BM ‘23). He has taught privately and within public schools over the past eight years, and loves to help students cultivate their passion for music and instrumental performance. Students can choose to focus entirely on their instrument (saxophone, clarinet, and flute), or can specifically study improvisation, jazz composition, music theory, and ear training. While primarily a jazz musician, Chris is trained in a wide variety of musics including classical, which he diligently studied on the clarinet; popular music and R&B; and world musics, including Brazilian (Choro/Bossa/Samba), Latin-American (Bomba/Timba/Rumba), and West-African styles (Agbekor/Gahu). Some of Chris's many accomplishments include being recognized as a YoungArts Jazz Performance winner for four years in a row; performing abroad in Europe with the inaugural NYO Jazz Band, receiving a Community Performances and Partnerships Ensemble Fellowship at New England Conservatory, and also receiving the George Whitefield Chadwick Medal of musical and academic performance. Chris emphasizes a teaching approach that prioritizes connecting with the student and engaging them in what they’re specifically interested in, while also covering the fundamentals essential to developing ones skills on their instrument or in their field of study. He offers lessons in person, primarily at students's personal residences, and also online via Zoom, Google Meet, or FaceTime (although in person is highly recommended).
