I started the shinobue class 9 months ago. After several lessons, I mastered the basic techniques under Nozomi's patient teaching. I started playing several scores with the other students. Together we participated in an end of year show. I am very happy to have the opportunity to share the delicate sound of shinobue with others. About Me

Nozomi Kanda's concerts and recitals have seen her perform in many countries, including Belgium, Spain, France, Luxembourg, Norway, Tunisia and her home country, Japan as a soloist and as a chamber musician.

During her studies, Nozomi developed an interest in the shinobue, a traditional Japanese flute, and studied with Kohei Nishikawa, who has a high reputation in the field of the contemporary music for Japanese instruments, and Rio Tosha who has a high reputation in the field of the traditional Japanese music. Nozomi also regularly gives Japanese music concerts with ensembles that include Japanese instruments such as koto, shamisen, shakuhachi and also taiko. Nozomi created and she released her own album CD "Sky Echo" with Japanese music.

Nozomi Kanda teaches regularly at "the International Music Academy" in Dinant (Belgium). She also gave workshops, seminars, masterclasses in France, Norway, Japan and gives regularly Japanese flute seminar in Paris.

She has been invited to Musiq'3 (Belgian classical channel radio), Radio Judaica and regularly writes articles for a Yokohama newspaper as well as the online magazine BEL2. Her varied activities led to be interviewed by several media around the World.

My name is Matteo and I am an Italian flutist and musicologist, based in Brussels since 2010. I graduated in modern flute at 'B. Marcello' Conservatory in Venice and at the Royal Conservatory in Brussels with Barthold Kuijken and Frank Theuns in the Baroque flute. I hold a master degree in Philosophy and Musicology as well.

I hold a PhD degree in music performance at Cardiff University, School of Music.

From 2013 till 2015, I have been teaching at the Venice Conservatory "B. Marcello", giving yearly lectures and seminaries on the historical repertoire for the flute. Since 2021, I have been appointed music curator of Coudenberg Sound Box Fest, a music festival which aims at celebrating the Belgian music heritage and takes place every year at the beautiful archeological site of the former Royal Palace of Brussels.

I recorded for Warner Classics & Erato, and a soloist for Arcana/Outhere Music ('La solitude à deux. Solos and duets by G. P. Telemann' in 2018 and 'Affect is no Crime. New music for old instruments' in 2019).

I regularly play with leading ensembles and orchestras such as Millennium Orchestra (Leonardo Garcia Alarcon), Vox Luminis (Lionel Meunier), Les Muffatti (Peter van Heyghen), Coro & Orchestra Ghislieri (Giulio Prandi), Le Concert d'Anvers (Bart van Reyn), B.O.X. I am a professional flutist with over 5 years of experience in teaching. I have worked with people aged 5 to 75 and taught in five different languages: English, German, Ukrainian, Polish, and French.
