Trusted teacher: I have studied Philosophy at A level and University and so I am in a good position to help students to understand content and then go onto use this understanding to write successful essays. Having done the A level (AQA) myself, gaining an A*, I know how the course works and what is required of students. Whilst philosophy is interesting, it can be a difficult subject to learn, therefore I aim to be patient with students as they get to grips with the content. Asking questions is key to properly understating philosophy so I allow plenty of opportunities for student to ask question and encourage that they do so. Philosophy also demands a high level of critical thinking in order to form the robust arguments that essays require, therefore this is certainly something that I aim to hone in any student I work with. Finally, being passionate about philosophy myself I will bring this attitude to all my lessons and hope so inspire the same passion in my students. I can also offer help to student applying to study philosophy at university to write their personal statement.

Trusted teacher: My three main areas of expertise (not necessarily in this order): - Chess: I teach chess to beginners and intermediate players up to ELO 1800 or ECF 1700, working on the tactical and strategic aspects of openings, middle games and endgames.. "chess is life in miniature"! - Fitness / Running / Triathlon: I coach people who want to get fitter and generally incorporate any endurance activity into a health(ier) lifestyle. I am a dedicated coach who has competed in several marathons and Ironman races (also qualified for the Ironman World Championship). I focus on nutrition, stress and sleep as well for a holistic approach. - Languages: I specialize in tutoring Italian and Spanish; my style is to keep students challenged and motivated through simple classes and practical exercises (pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary).. I'm a demanding teacher but will guide you in a fun and interactive way.
