I offer personalized, high-quality violin and viola lessons tailored entirely to your personal goals, learning pace, and musical interests. My teaching approach blends solid classical fundamentals with the music you love to play—whether that is classical masterworks, modern pop covers, folk tunes, or movie soundtracks. I want to ensure music making will be an inspiring journey!

Every lesson is customized for the individual student, but core areas we will cover include:

Instrument fundamentals: Proper posture, correct bow hold, and healthy setup to prevent tension.

Sound Production: Developing a beautiful, rich tone and clean intonation.

Music Literacy: Reading sheet music, understanding rhythm, and basic music theory.

Expression & Artistry: Mastering dynamics, articulation, vibrato, and musical phrasing.

Performance Skills: Audition preparation, exam prep (e.g., ABRSM, Suzuki, or local curriculums), and overcoming stage fright.

🚲 In-Home Lessons & Bicycle Travel Policy:

Flat Rate: My in-home lesson fee is €60 per hour. This flat rate includes my travel time and the physical logistics of bringing lesson materials directly to you.

Maximum Radius: I travel by bicycle up to a maximum of 10 km from my location.

Weather & Punctuality: Because I travel by bike, please ensure there is a safe, dry space to store my instrument/backpack upon arrival. In cases of extreme weather (heavy storms or black ice), I may request to pivot our session online for that week to guarantee safety.

About Me

Thank you for taking the time to check out my Apprentus page!

I am a musician formerly based out Dallas, TX, but have most recently moved to Rostock, Germany! I performed in orchestras across the North Texas and Louisiana area as an orchestral violist, having played professionally there for 11 years. I have also traveled abroad and performed in concert halls in other places of the world such as Muscat, Leipzig, Prague and Kraków. As a teacher I have 16 years of experience of working with violin and viola students of a variety of ages, but primarily with students in the middle school to high school age range in North Texas public schools. My students have gone on to high placings in All-State and All-Region competitions and have performed in many solo competitions.

I invite those who are new or proficient to the violin or viola into my studio. It is my feeling that anyone can play as long as the desire to make music is present.
