As a swim instructor I have thoroughly enjoyed watching young swimmers become more confident in their ability and become well skilled individuals who are not only safe around the water but can utilise these skills to have fun! I enjoy coaching lessons where the kids are able to suggest new ideas and games so that engagement stays high throughout the lesson. Within a lesson I will focus on 2 strokes at a time making sure your child not only learns but understands the fundamental concepts of swimming. In my lessons I will focus on challenging your child and I will include creative analogies and techniques that will ultimately improve your child’s ability.

Extra information

Make sure to bring adequate equipment such as a towel, goggles and swim costume otherwise make sure you are prepared for a fun and enjoyable lesson!

About Me

I love teaching children to swim and I find it very rewarding for both me and the student when new milestones are hit. I like to create a fun and inclusive environment and will break down my lessons into multiple sections so that your child can have fun as well as develop essential life skills around the pool. I love creating fun and personalised learning points so your child remembers the basics.

Outwith teaching I swim competitively, in 2024 I attended the British Championships in Manchester, and as much as it was a nerve wracking experience it was also one of the most enjoyable.

Despite still being in school I make time for the things I love such as playing hockey with my school and going on long walks with my dog.

I love arts and crafts, and I take great pleasure in creating little trinkets and pieces that are on display around my house.

Education

I have sat my national 5’s and achieved all A’s. Currently I am revising for my higher exams and hope to achieve the necessary grades to pursue my chosen career path.

Experience / Qualifications

- STA level 2 certificate in swim teaching
- I have 1 year of experience as a swim coach at making waves swim school
- Undergone many leadership roles within my school
- Partook in math tutoring to the lower senior school
