Ciao, I am Elisa a certified Italian Language teacher and the founder of Elisa's Italian School.
I have been teaching Italian to international students for years and I have experience with students of different levels and ages. I have been teaching at the European School of Helsinki, so I have experience also in teaching to preschool children.
If you want to learn Italian at your own pace and have a learning experience tailored just for you, then I am the teacher you are looking for.
My lessons are held online. You will get a personalized curriculum, flexible schedule and optimal learning environment. After each class you will receive a PDF with notes of the class, material for revision and a personalized vocabulary of the class. If you are interested in in-person lessons we can discuss this possibility (the price of the Lessons would be a bit higher).

I also offer the possibility of buying packages of 4 or 8 classes

About Me
My name is Elisa, a passionate Italian language teacher and the founder of Elisa’s Italian School.
I help Italian learners to achieve their language ambitions with a simple and innovative approach that allows students to learn the language in a safe and inspiring environment.

I’ve always been fascinated by the beauty and richness of languages. To me, languages are not merely tools for communication, but also powerful gateways to different worlds and cultures. For this reason, I learned to speak English and Spanish from a young age and later went on to study Latin in school.

I studied Italian Literature and Modern Languages at the University of Milano, where I gained a deep understanding of linguistics and literature. After studying in Milano, I moved to Helsinki. In Finland, I started to teach Italian as an Assistant at the Language Centre of the University of Helsinki.

Since then, I have had the privilege of teaching Italian language and culture to learners from all over the world. From children to adults, from beginners to advanced learners, I’ve seen firsthand the transformative impact that language learning can have on people’s lives.

My goal is to unlock the potential of every learner through personalized support, constructive feedback, and individualized accountability. Whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced learner, I am committed to helping you achieve your Italian language goals and discover the joy of communicating in a new language.

# Course set-up

I can help you in the preparation of italian language tests, exams or certifications in speaking or writing practice. I will guide you during your italian learning journey, focusing on a way of learning that fit your needs the most (real language use versus test preparation)!

Before we set up our lectures, I will likely ask you some questions to clarify your current situation, needs and goals. If you have any weaknesses you would like to address, mention them and I will prepare for that! After every lecture, I will take notes of what we did and prepare a schedule for an eventual next lecture! If you have any suggested activity for our lectures, feel free to ask!
The lecture structure is very free and customizable, depending on your needs. We will discuss more about this before scheduling our first lecture and especially during the first lecture.

We will both use digital resources and digital italian textbooks to assist your learning. You don't need to obtain your own resources, but if you have some you need help with, feel free to share! Based on your needs, I will prepare some exercises that we can do together during lectures. You can also propose your own exercises and we can do them together during or in part of the lectures!

Questions are always very welcomed and even encouraged, both outside and inside lectures! Being the guy that always asks stupid questions in class: there are no stupid questions. Questions that might look stupid to others could be the ones that allow you to finally grasp a concept and make everything clear. Everybody has a different learning style, and that's fine.

# Lecture modality

The lessons are thought to be primarly via Zoom or Google Meet.
However, if you live in near Helsinki and you prefer face-to-face lectures, we can book a public room somewhere and have our lessons there! Feel free to book more than one hour in the same day, although I wouldn't recommend more than two hours of language learning in a row.
