From K-culture to real conversations: Learn Korean the fun way
From 33 £ /h
Learn Korean the way it’s really spoken, and discover the culture behind every word. 🇰🇷
📚 How my lessons work
Each lesson follows a clear textbook structure, so you always know where you are and what comes next. We work on speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar and vocabulary, at your own pace. Complete beginners start with Hangul, the Korean alphabet, which you can learn to read within a few lessons.
🎵 Learning with K-pop
I create my own worksheets based on K-pop songs, with vocabulary, grammar points, example sentences and exercises. It’s a fun way to learn real, everyday Korean and to finally understand what your favourite songs are saying.
💼 Korean for work and exams
I’ve worked in Korean public institutions and in diplomatic and cultural settings, so I know the Korean that’s actually used at work: formal speech and honorifics, emails, meetings, presentations and networking. If you need Korean for your job, we’ll focus on the situations you’ll really face.
I also help students prepare for TOPIK (Test of Proficiency in Korean), with practice tests, exam strategies and targeted grammar and vocabulary.
📱 Support between lessons
After each lesson, you get a short recap, plus homework and quizzes on WhatsApp to keep practising during the week. For younger students, parents receive a summary in English so they can follow their child’s progress.
🎬 Monthly culture session (optional)
Once a month, we take Korean out of the classroom. We might watch a Korean film, see a performance, visit an exhibition, cook Korean food together or go to a Korean market. We learn the vocabulary beforehand, use it for real during the activity and review it afterwards. Tickets and ingredients are not included.

About Me
Annyeonghaseyo👋 I’m Mia, a native Korean speaker living in Brussels. I’ve been tutoring Korean since 2009.
Alongside teaching, most of my career has been about sharing Korean culture with the world. I worked for six years at a Korean cultural foundation, and also at the Korean Cultural Center and the Korean Heritage Agency, as well as in arts centres and galleries. That background shapes how I teach. I don’t only teach grammar. I teach the culture inside the language: why Koreans speak the way they do, what is really happening in that K-drama scene, and how to order food like a local.
As a teacher, I’m structured but relaxed. I want you to feel comfortable making mistakes, because that’s how you start speaking. I keep track of your progress and make sure every lesson builds on the last one.
I love teaching curious beginners, K-pop and K-drama fans, children and teenagers, and adults preparing for a trip or a move to Korea. If you’re interested in Korea, we’ll get along!

Education
Sungkyunkwan University, Seoul, Korea : Arts Management
💬 My studies focused on how art and culture are created, programmed and shared with audiences. This background is the foundation of my teaching approach: I see language as part of culture, which is why my lessons include Korean films, performances, exhibitions and food.
