Education

From 2011 to 2014, I studied for a bachelor's degree in classical music with Teodoro Anzellotti in Bern at the HKB. In 2019-2021, I continued my training with a master of jazz in Lausanne at HEMU. I took instrument lessons with Denis Croisonnier and Matthieu Michel, as well as composition lessons with Philip Henzi.

The 5 string banjo is an amazing instrument. It's driving trademark sound and it's African roots has contributed to many music traditions, including Country, Bluegrass, Blues, Jazz and world music.

In my class you'll first learn the basics, how to hold and pick and read tablatures. We'll then go through how to play a tune, accompany other instruments and finally, improvise. During the year I'll teach you basic music theory like rhythm, harmony and a bit of ear training to help you develop your understanding and relationship to the instrument.

We'll mainly play Bluegrass Scruggs style at first, then we'll dive into melodic style and sigle string, that will all be useful for playing other kinds of music, like Irish music, Pop, Jazz or Blues. Being attracted by musical creation, as well as composition, I was also able to study harmony, arrangement, music theory and composition at the Rueil-Malmaison conservatory in the Paris region.

Alongside my musical projects as a classical and jazz pianist and musical composition, I devote myself to my passion for educational transmission.

Currently in a dual Master's degree program in classical and jazz pedagogy at the HEMU in Lausanne, I am looking for two students (one in classical saxophone and one in jazz saxophone, from beginner to intermediate/advanced level) for my didactics courses.
