I offer private cello lessons ranging in all ages and from beginner to advance levels. I can travel to your house or offer lessons online. I am fluent in both English and French.

During the 2022-23 season I am the cello praktikant for the Bern Symphony Orchestra, as well as a current Masters of Orchestra student at l'HEMU with Prof. Xavier Phillips. I have previously completed my Bachelor of Music at the Cleveland Institute of Music 18' under the studio of Dr. Melissa Kraut, where I also became Suzuki certified for pre-twinkle to Book 2. I have also been a student of Hans Jorgen Jensen at Northwestern University, Wei Yu, Andres Diaz and John Kadz. Over the last ten years I have gained teaching along with performance experience in Toronto, Calgary, Cleveland and Chicago, working with some of the top teachers and pedagogues in North America.

Along with performing across Canada and the United States, I have been invited to take part in orchestras across the world such as Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival (Germany), Pacific Music Festival (Japan), American Institute of Musical Studies (Austria) and National Repertory Orchestra (Colorado, USA).

About Me
My teaching style is unique to each individual student. At the first lesson, I will gain knowledge of any previous experience on the cello or other musical experience the student may have. After, I will prepare a list of repertoire, technique and other goals we would like to accomplish, suitable for the level of the student. For students under the age of twelve, I would like a parent present for the first initial lessons. I encourage recording or tapping lessons to refer back specific details throughout the week! I keep lesson plans, notes and goals for each student, creating structure and motivation. The music lessons will be energetic and lively, along with solidifying knowledge of the cello!

Hello,

I am thrilled to introduce myself as a devoted cellist and music enthusiast with a fervor for teaching adults. My journey in the realm of music has encompassed both professional performances and the joy of mentoring others. Here's a glimpse into what makes me a unique candidate for your musical journey.

Cellist Extraordinaire:
Having graced the stages of various orchestras and quartets, my journey as a cellist has been one of continuous growth and exploration. The melodies that resonate from my cello are a result of years of dedication, practice, and a deep connection to the art form. My experiences performing in diverse ensembles have not only refined my technical skills but also broadened my musical horizons.

Teaching for the Love of Music:
While music has been a significant part of my life, teaching has become an equally cherished pursuit. Guiding and inspiring others on their musical odysseys is a passion I wholeheartedly embrace. As a hobbyist instructor, I approach teaching with a sense of fun and creativity, fostering an environment where learning is an enjoyable and rewarding experience.

Multilingual Communicator:
My ability to communicate effectively in both English and Chinese enables me to connect with a broader range of students. This linguistic versatility ensures that language is never a barrier to understanding and absorbing the rich world of music.

Focused on Adult Learners:
Recognizing the distinct needs and aspirations of adult learners, I have tailored my teaching approach to cater specifically to this demographic. Whether you're an aspiring musician seeking to fulfill a long-held dream or someone looking to reignite a passion for music, I am here to guide you through this journey with patience and understanding.

Choosing a music instructor is a pivotal decision, and I am committed to making this choice an enriching one. If you're an adult with a yearning to explore the cello, harness your musical talents, and embark on a harmonious adventure, I would be honored to be your guide.

Thank you for considering my candidacy.
