About Me

I am a Mechanical Engineer with a strong academic background and a passion for teaching. I hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science and Engineering, as well as a Master’s degree in Energy Systems from the Cyprus University of Technology. I have several years of teaching experience in secondary education schools, specializing in Design and Technology, as well as subjects related to Mechanical Engineering.

My teaching approach focuses on clear explanations, practical examples, and adapting lessons to each student’s individual needs. I aim to help students not only succeed academically, but also develop critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a genuine understanding of engineering concepts. Sciences are some of the most challenging subjects in primary and middle school, and some of the most exciting nonetheless; I will help your child see the beauty and simplicity in the heart of physics, chemistry or biology, and thus excel at them.

My approach is flexible. I can do any of: re-explain difficult material to the student; help with homework; supervise and guide them in preparation for exams and tests. All my teaching, however, is always accompanied by quizzes and questions to ensure understanding and gauge progress.

I'm a high-school student specialising in these subjects, consistently scoring best-in-school scores for them for the past 5 years. Although my main area of interest in mathematics - I am a member of the Cyprus National Mathematics Team - my mathematical and educational passion swiftly translates into science tutoring talent. I already possess experience in teaching sciences, teaching a student in 9th grade biology.

My teaching style is highly visual, using diagrams, illustrations, and other aids to help students grasp complex concepts. I also make a conscious effort to connect lessons to topics that resonate with students outside of the classroom, whether through nature, pop culture, or other areas of personal interest.

My lessons typically begin with a review of the previous material to reinforce understanding and ensure continuity. At the end of each session, I assign a small task that challenges students to apply what they've learned. In addition, I specialize in exam preparation for IGCSEs and A-Levels, using past papers and structured revision sessions to build confidence. This approach has led to a 100% pass rate in my experience, with most students achieving their desired grades.

I am deeply passionate about the sciences and mathematics, and I bring extensive experience in teaching students from a variety of age groups, ranging from 8 to 18 years old, including those with learning disabilities.

Ultimately, my goal is to create an enjoyable and engaging learning environment where students not only improve their academic performance but also develop a lasting passion for STEM subjects.
