I am a professional violinist with 30 years of experience. I am classically trained but am also an Irish fiddle player. I can teach folk music or ABRSM grades up to grade 5. I have several years teaching experience with various ages and my classes are fun and engaging. I have also taught in other languages. I look forward to taking on a few new students!
Extra information
For absolute beginners I always start with a book called Fiddle Time Joggers. I will also help with finding anything the student needs instrument-wise.

About Me
Currently based in Lincolnshire/Nottinghamshire UK, I am a British American who has been playing violin/fiddle for 28 years. Starting out with classical music in elementary school when I was 9, I decided to switch to Irish Folk music after university. I've continued studying classical music and now have ABRSM grade 8. Having a background in multiple styles has enabled me to develop a unique way of playing.
I spend the majority of my time teaching or doing street performances in many towns across Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, and other locations across the country. As a freelance musician, I also play with various bands. I am also forming my own celtic fusion band.

Education
I started out in university with a degree in Geography then I got my master's degree in Anthropology. Since then I made the change to becoming a full time musician. I have a lot of transferable skills from these degrees and also taught Irish dance while I was doing my BA in Geography.
Experience / Qualifications
I have 28 years of experience playing the violin, but I decided later in life to pursue the ABRSM grades. These were not offered to us in school in the U.S. I have also had a student pass Grade 5 music theory and english was not her first language so I can definitely teach that as well!
