Dutch Welcome to your ney class! The ney, a traditional Turkish reed flute, is one of the oldest musical instruments in history. With its soft, soulful sounds, the ney holds an important place in Turkish and Islamic culture, especially in Sufi music. This enchanting instrument is not only a medium for music, but also a bridge to spiritual expression. The ney is closely associated with the teachings of Rumi (Mevlana), the great Persian poet and Sufi mystic of the 13th century. Rumi often used the ney as a metaphor for the human soul. He compared the hollow body of the ney to a human being longing for reunion with his divine origins, producing melodies of longing and love. What does a lesson look like? My philosophy is simple: practice is key. We dive into theory where necessary, but the goal is always to help you play better, not to rote learn. I want to get you ready as quickly as possible to play in a band, join a jam session, or simply play the music you love to hear. These are the standard ingredients of my lessons: - Songs & Repertoire: We'll quickly start by playing along to songs you enjoy. This way, you'll immediately put your technique into practice. - Creativity & Songwriting: You learn not only to play by ear, but also to create your own. How do you build a good bass line? How do you make sure it fits the drums? We work on your own musical voice. - Ear Training & Jamming: Do you want to be able to play along without sheet music? We train your ears so you recognize chords and melodies faster. We conclude every lesson with a short moment of improvisation: just dare to play and listen to what works. Feeling a bit stressed about improvising? No problem, so am I. I’ll happily help you through it, so you feel at ease in any setting. - Technique & "Theory at your fingertips": 1. We learn the neck of the bass blindly (where are the notes?). 2. We practice scales, modes, arpeggios, and inversions. Not as boring sequences, but as building blocks for creating more interesting bass lines. 3. For those who can read sheet music, we also include sight-reading. Can't read sheet music, but want to learn? Great, we'll do that. 4. We learn to play along with chord progressions. For absolute beginners: Have you just started? Then we will take our time to get the basics right. You will get to know the instrument well, and we will also cover music theory in an accessible way, so that you have a solid foundation. The end goal? That you feel confident on stage or in a rehearsal room, know what you're doing, and above all: enjoy playing.

Classical guitar: lessons for everyone at every levelTranslate this text using Google Translate.

Classical guitar is one of the most beautiful and versatile instruments out there! You can play music from all styles and from all times. But learning to play the guitar is not something you do alone: you need someone who will guide you personally and help you discover what you can get out of your instrument. So do you dream of starting to make music yourself but don't know where to start? Or have you been playing for some time, but are you looking for a more personal approach in your lessons? Then you've come to the right place! I'm Warre and I've been playing classical guitar for over 16 years. A few years ago I decided to go for a life as a professional musician and enrolled at a conservatory. This year I completed my Master of Music at the Lemmens Institute in Leuven. I have been teaching guitar for several years now. I look forward to meeting my students every week. Few things are more fun than watching someone discover music and get so much fun out of it! No prior musical knowledge is required. If you are a total beginner, we will start from scratch. And it's never too late to get started! Of course, more experienced players are also welcome for lessons that are completely tailored to your needs. Lessons at my home in the center of Antwerp or online. Current availabilities valid until the end of August.

Cigdem is a great teacher who takes the time to integrate learnings with real-life discussions. For example, we spend 10 minutes at the start of each lesson and throughout the course of the lesson an extra 15-20 minutes having a chat about subjects including work and life in order to be able to apply all the theoretical learnings to the actual language.

Great teacher, very knowledgeable and kind. Kristie is warm and patient and has the answer to every question I have. I highly recommend to anyone who is looking to become better on the violin to have lessons with Kristie!
