I specialise in tutoring chemistry, biology and Japanese up until A level grade. In my lessons, I help students understand more difficult concepts though simple and easy explanations. Also, in order to see if students fully understand the concepts and are able to apply their knowledge, I incorporate exam questions in every lesson. At the end of every lesson, I will assign homework which may be an exam question or an exercise to solidify student's understanding and identify any weak points.

This is a place where we exchange languages. Please feel free to make mistakes while learning! If you’re looking for someone to chat in Mandarin/ Japanese, you're at the right place! We can even sing and play some easy games. My aim is for you to enjoy the language, not just studying with textbooks or dictionaries. Of course, if you prefer to do it in more of a serious way, which involves a lot of listening, speaking, reading and writing, that’s also fine.

I am offering to teach conversational Japanese as well as how to read and write, from beginner level to more advanced. I am able to teach grammar, vocabulary and how to write Japanese characters. By learning Japanese, one can better enjoy and understand the culture of the country of Japan. Japanese is a beautiful language that will be helpful for tourism or exploring Japanese entertainment.

I’m originally from Japan and now based in London. When I trained to become a Japanese teacher, my instructor encouraged us not to use English, even if we were able to. However, from my own experience, I believe using English can be helpful—especially for beginners or when clarification is needed.

I’m flexible and happy to tailor lessons to your goals. Whether you want to brush up your Japanese before visiting Japan, already know Hiragana and Katakana and want to progress further, or are interested in Japanese culture—such as Manga, Anime, or Music—through conversation with a native speaker, I can support learners at any level and focus on your specific needs.
