Geography: Understanding Our Complex and Changing World
Hi, I'm Polly! I graduated with a first-class BA in Geography from the University of Oxford and I am about to start my MA at SOAS University of London. My experience includes teaching English in China for a year, over four years tutoring Geography from KS3 to undergraduate level, and teaching A-level Geography at an international school. Geography is more than just maps; it's the study of the world and how humans interact with it, making it essential for understanding our interconnected planet and the challenges we face. This class ranges from physical geography, such as Earth's features and natural processes, to human geography, including population, urban development, and cultural landscapes. Students will develop critical skills like map reading, spatial awareness, analytical thinking, and research while exploring global issues such as climate change and sustainability. By learning geography, students gain a deeper appreciation for diverse cultures and environments, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to navigate and address the complex challenges of our world. As a qualified tutor for the National Tutoring Programme, I've developed strategies to address learning gaps and support students with SEND needs. My expertise covers human and physical Geography, ensuring comprehensive support across a range of topics. I tailor my approach to each student’s needs, focusing on content mastery, exam techniques, and revision strategies, with follow-up exercises to reinforce learning and build confidence.

Hi there! My name is Lila and I’m currently enrolled in the University of Oxford reading English Language and Literature. I am looking for the opportunity to tutor school age individuals in a variety of subjects but with a preference to English, Geography and History of Art which I took at A Level. I can provide additional help and support to any students studying for public exams such as GCSE and A-Level or those who simply just want to expand, consolidate or revise their knowledge. Having achieved all A*s at A Level and GCSE within the last few years, I can help with English, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, History of Art and more adjusted to whatever level you might need! I will be offering zoom or Google Meet sessions for tutoring, teaching and help with homework at whatever length and frequency you might need!

Stanley
Online Maths, Computer Science and Geography tutor.
I have completed GCSE and Alevel maths in which I obtained a grade 9 at GCSE and a grade A in my Alevel. I am currently going into my first year of university to study economics at the university of Nottingham. I would like to pursue tutoring as I was lucky enough to have tutors during my ALevel's and GCSE's which massively helped me get to where I am today; also being tutored has allowed me know what works best for teaching and how I could tailor this to fit different students in order to help them reach there full academic potential. I have a passion for maths and how it suits many job types and can be used in many real world situations.

Homework help & MATH lessons on COLLE / St PAUL & Surroundings - By PROFESSOR OF TRADE & PROFESSIONAL COACH
By PROFESSOR & PROFESSIONAL COACH Hello, First and foremost, I would like to wish you a warm welcome back to school and a peaceful year ahead as you work towards your goals. I am aware that the economic situation can sometimes be challenging, which is why I offer my services to accompany your child throughout their academic journey with ease and serenity. Throughout my career as a Graduate Teacher and Graduate Professional Coach, I have worked in various contexts. Until last year, I taught in front of whole classes as well as in private lessons. Since this year, I have been providing face-to-face private lessons at home and also via video conferencing, a mode of teaching that I have practiced with university students for the past ten years. My teaching environment has undergone significant changes, especially with the emergence of the Covid pandemic. This shift has led our secondary school students to adapt to the new mode of learning and communication, namely video conferencing. Despite the success of this transition, it is important to acknowledge that our younger students still require attention and a psycho-emotional connection in order to develop their autonomy peacefully. Over the past two decades, I have implemented proven methodological approaches, some of which are borrowed from theater techniques, such as the Davis method (mind mappings/colors), and my specialty, professional coaching, which aims to enhance your child's motivation. My main goal is to foster agility in your child across all subjects, not only for the present but also for their future when I will no longer be by their side. Ultimately, my objective goes beyond simply focusing on gaining points in a subject. I firmly believe in this approach due to my experience as a Mental Coach working with young athletes between Nice and Cannes, as well as throughout Europe via video conferencing, as part of their preparation for the French Tennis Championships. It has reinforced my conviction that working on a subject should be a nurtured objective that encompasses personal growth and development. As a Professor in General Education, specializing mainly in scientific subjects, I suggest supporting your child in gaining agility in constructing their academic path during this unique period that is filled with both opportunities and challenges. Looking forward to meeting you soon, Corinne. Teaching history to people is a valuable endeavor for several reasons: 1. **Understanding the Present**: History helps us understand the present by revealing how societies, cultures, and institutions have developed over time. It provides context for current events and issues, allowing people to see the roots and evolution of contemporary problems and achievements. 2. **Learning from the Past**: By studying history, we can learn from past successes and mistakes. This knowledge can guide decision-making in various fields, from politics and economics to social issues and personal choices, helping to avoid repeating errors and to build on past successes. 3. **Critical Thinking Skills**: Teaching history encourages critical thinking and analytical skills. Students learn to assess sources, evaluate evidence, and understand different perspectives. These skills are crucial for informed citizenship and effective problem-solving. 4. **Cultural Awareness and Empathy**: History exposes people to diverse cultures, beliefs, and experiences, fostering empathy and cultural awareness. Understanding different historical contexts helps break down stereotypes and prejudices, promoting a more inclusive and tolerant society. 5. **Identity and Heritage**: History helps individuals and communities understand their identities and heritage. It connects people to their past, offering a sense of continuity and belonging. This understanding can inspire pride and responsibility towards preserving and contributing to one's cultural and national legacy. 6. **Informed Citizenship**: Knowledge of history is essential for active and informed citizenship. It provides insight into the development of political systems, rights, and responsibilities, empowering people to participate more effectively in civic life and contribute to democratic processes. By teaching history, you aim to equip people with these crucial skills and perspectives, enabling them to navigate the complexities of the modern world with a deeper understanding and a more informed, empathetic approach.
