My name is Texenén, I am a flute/piccolo player living in Maastricht with more than 15 years of teaching experience.

If you want to learn how to play this amazing instrument; if you already know but would love to take it out of the storage room and enjoy it again; if you need help to study the pieces you have to play in your wind band; or if you want to prepare exams, competitions or auditions I am here to help you to reach your goals.

I have taught in music academies, masterclasses, and private lessons, from beginners to advanced students. I will work to help my students to improve their skills and keep them motivated.

About Me

I studied a bachelor in Flute Pedagogy in the Canary Islands Conservatory, doing an ERASMUS in the Gent Conservatorium during that period. After that I did my first Master in Flute Performance in the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel and a second Master in the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.

Nowadays I am a freelance orchestral musician, during that last years I have played with orchestras such as: Philharmonie Zuidnederland, Phion -Orkest van Gelderland & Overijssel, Rotterdarm Philharmonisch Orkest (The Netherlands) Rtè Concert Orchestra (Ireland), Macao Orchestra (Macao, China),Orquesta Sinfónica de Tenerife, Orquesta Sinfónica de Las Palmas, Orquesta Filarmónica de Gran Canaria (Spain).

As piccolo player, in 2021, I got the 3rd Prize in the Gazzelloni International Piccolo Competition in Pescara (Italy).

I have also been involved in chamber music projects. The last years I have played in the Lothar Siemens Ensemble, playing contemporary music, and as member of the Khufu-Anch woodwind quintet I won the 3rd Prize in the Néstor Álamo Chamber Music Competition.

Our lessons could be in English, Spanish and I think I can improve my Dutch a little bit every day.

Course description:

This course is for people of all ages and levels. Lessons can be individual or in pairs, depending on your choice.

The student learns the flute while having fun, with a repertoire tailored to his level and his musical tastes.

Description of the teacher:

I have just finished my studies at the Conservatoire de Liège as an optional didactic master in flute. With a three-year experience in teaching, both in flute and musical awakening, this job is a pleasure for me.

During my internship, I was able to observe breathing and posture problems in most of the students. So I decided to look into the subject, from which was born my graduation thesis "The Alexander Technique and Breath", research that I would be delighted to share with you.

2. Freelance
Learn how to enjoy flute playing in any type of music! Is it Pop/Jazz/House/Electronic music? Thats the perfect choice. In this course you can also learn how to make arrangments of your favourite songs, what tools do you need and how to record multitrack videos!

This class is a guide to help adults and children discover their creativity and imagination through flute lessons. My goal as a teacher is to help my students find their enthusiasm and joy in making music.

I have experience with all ages and levels individually but I am also working with groups of parents and children. I believe music making is a very effective activity to strengthened the bond between a child and his/her parents.

Classical Flute is one of the woodwind instruments. It can be part of chamber music groups, different type of Orchestras or even Solo Performances. It has a beautiful mellow tone that a lot of composers from different periods have been exploring through their compositions. In the lessons we are going to learn the basic structure of Flute playing, talking about sound, technique in all levels and styles, shaping a safe and strong basis to start exploring the Fute repertoire.

For everyone who wants to make the sounds of the flute sound to his or her hand! Since the age of nine I have been playing the flute, mainly classical. In 2015 I came into contact with the Brazilian music style 'chorinho', which I immediately fell in love with. This music style is extremely rich in melodies and rhythms, and in my experience is a good and fun addition to the classical repertoire, also for ensemble playing. I attended the Conservatory of Classical Composition with flute as main instrument, and I went to Brazil twice to improve my chorinho playing. I like to help young and old to make playing the flute one of the best activities, at both hobby level and professional level!
