Hi, I'm Henry, 23, and I am currently graduating from the Maastricht Science Programme where I received high marks in biology-related disciplines and organic chemistry.
I have a passion for Science, and how its different disciplines come together to explain the world we live in. This led me to take a lot of courses, ranging from ecology, animal behavior, ecophysiology, and cell biology, before specializing in genetics and molecular biology, on which I wrote my Bachelor Thesis.
I am great at innovating new ways of formulating and explaining materials, as I believe that understanding a concept mainly depends on how you perceive it, something I learned when giving trainings to de-scholarized adults.
I can tutor and help prepare for exams in most biology-related courses!

About Me

Hello, I'm Henry, currently 23 years old, born in Belgium but having lived a while in the US. I just completed my Bachelor's at the Maastricht Science Programme, where I followed most of the biology courses that were available on a wide variety of topics such as ecology, animal behavior, neuroscience, genetics, and molecular biology. I have previously worked at a formation center where I gave lessons to young adults that had dropped out of school, which challenged me to find new ways to teach and find ways to motivate them to learn again. This was a particularly interesting experience for me, as I had personally disliked the way I had been taught at school and wanted to make sure that I did not have that effect on them.
Now, as my Master's degree only starts in September, I like to teach as it also helps me to keep it fresh!
I can give lessons in French or English, as you would prefer!

I have experience tutoring French, to children and young adults. I am a dedicated tutor who is constantly trying to understand how to best tailor my teaching technique to the individual needs of the student. I assign homework after lessons that is specifically targeted to the skills.

High school biology and economics were my favorite IB subjects, and I would be confident to explain the concepts to high school students. I have already tutored younger students when I was in school.

My name is Alberto . An enthusiastic 19 year old Biomedical Sciences student at Maastricht University. During my studies I deal with advanced level biological content from Molecular Biology to Human anatomy, on a daily basis. There is also a big emphasis on being able to explain and communicate newly acquired knowledge, which contributes to my teaching skills. I have previously completed 1 year (60 ECTS) in Biology at the University of Oviedo, where I also learned about general animal and plant biology, Cell Biology, Chemistry and Physics, among others. I believe that Biology can be a challenging subject for everyone, Therefore I would love to share my enthusiasm and experience on the subject with any primary/high school student who may need it. I promise you, Biology can be a fun thing to learn, specially when you understand it!
Before each session, you could for example send me which topics you would like to focus on (e.g. picture of your textbook, homework..) so that we can address it during the session. The classes would be fully given in English and focused on each student's materials. The classes can also be given in Spanish if desired by the student (native Language).
