Would you like to learn more about History, or do you have a particular interest in Ancient History, Art History or any other aspect of the Ancient World? If the answer is yes, I am here to teach you and take you on a trip to past historical periods, learning the keys of each culture, and enjoying learning about ancient empires, wars, society and the diversity of people that shaped the world in which we live today. I am Rubén, a recent PhD in Archaeology by the University of Leicester with extensive experience teaching in academia for the last 6 years. I have also taught Spanish to foreign students at from primary and secondary levels and higher education. I have taught American and UK students over the last seven years, whilst pursuing my studies in Spain and in the United Kingdom. I was recently awarded my PhD, through which I developed methodological aspects of teaching different types of public from different backgrounds. My experience to communicate to different types of audiences have been enhanced through my work as a contributing writer for the National Geographic History Magazine. This course is designed for those who wish to begin or deepen their knowledge of theatrical art, exploring the fundamental tools of the actor and the creative process on stage. Through a practical and experiential methodology, the course covers acting techniques, body language, text analysis, improvisation, and character development. The main objective is to develop stage presence, active listening, and emotional truth, based on play and self-confidence and confidence in the group. Contemporary and classical scenes will be covered, with individual and group exercises that allow students to discover their own interpretive language. No previous experience is necessary; just a desire to explore, learn, and be transformed by theater. At the end of the course, a public performance will be held as part of the training process.

The classes are adapted to the curricular content corresponding to the school year. Since last year the curriculum is mainly oriented towards competencies, so the classes will focus on this aspect of teaching. As a methodology I use teaching-learning strategies in which I give priority to the understanding of the content, for which schemes, summaries, mental maps are used and the use of ICT (information and communication technologies) is generalized.
