My approach to language learning is acquiring the target language as one acquired their native language- immersion, conversation practice , reading, writing.
I am an experienced in interpretation and work as a medical/social/academic interpreter.
I also do translation work and have experience in tourism (tourist license for foreign language tours in the United States).
Because I am multilingual, I work with various language combinations for students- for example: French students learning English, Spanish-speaking students learning Italian, Portuguese-speaking students learning Spanish, etc.

About Me

My qualifications as a linguist include:
Master's degree in Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, French
Teaching /Tutoring experience: I have been teaching languages since 1990.
I am a Chartered Linguist, recognized by the Chartered Institute of Linguists (UK)
I work as a translator (freelance for art galleries, private clients, and Duolingo), and interpreter (medical, psychiatric, and general interpretation).

I am a professional violinist- classical and jazz. I have performed with numerous orchestras including the South Coast Symphony, the Chapel Hill Philharmonia, the White Iris Light Opera Orchestra, and the Colchester Orchestra. I currently play with the international jazz duo, Tesoro.
I am also a pianist and have performed as accompanist and with ensembles and musical theatre.
My favourite teaching method is Suzuki but I also use other methods. I teach classical, jazz, and popular music.

For my lessons I mix grammar, speaking and listening exercises using grammar books, movies, articles and songs to practice. This is a good method to learn having fun and knowing more about Italian culture and language.

I have lived in many countries from Europe to America learning all languages of places where I have moved. This allows me to have a basic or advanced knowledge of most of my students' language and make the lesson easier when students cannot understand some words or when some grammar rules are very different in their language.

Get prepared to speak as a real Italian (yes also with hands!) :)

Italian politically correct language course adaptable to various backgrounds, A1 to C2, with the advantage of avoiding those cacophonic terms that you will not have to use in high-level contexts and circles.
