Scholarship Application Prep and College Readiness Prep
This class will help with the drafting, editing, and finalization of college applications and scholarships. We will discuss what to expect when just entering college, where to find those little hidden scholarships, and how to organize your resumes.
I will be graduating from CAC in May and have not paid one penny towards my college degree. I have actually received a check back from the college that was money left over from my scholarships.

About Me
I am currently studying Elementary Education and Special Education. I am fluent in American Sign Language and have love to share the beautiful language with everyone! I also have a love of writing and the art of using words to express yourself. My classes can be slowed down or sped up based on your needs. I am flexible with my schedule and can meet for local classes when I am not at work or school.Education
I will graduate from Central Arizona College in May of 2020 with my AAEE. In August of 2020, I plan to attend Northern Arizona University to complete my Bachelor's in Elementary and Special Education.Experience / Qualifications
- I completed Advanced Sign Language Classes in high school.- I love writing and have taken creative writing classes.
- Sharing my love for both ASL and writing with others are my favorite things to do.
Sign language is a wonderful language to know for many reasons including having a better understanding of the deaf community.
This class is an excellent opportunity to familiarize yourself with the language as well as learn beginning terms. The fundamentals of sign language as well as proper movements are focused on during this class.
We will go over the alphabet, everyday words, and questions used in everyday life. I can teach terms you request as well. Let me know what you would like to focus on and what would be most beneficial to you.
If you have any questions please feel free to ask.
This class is designed for parents to learn the basic signs needed to communicate with a toddler. We will learn signs that can be used for everyday needs as well as the alphabet depending on the age of your child.
Please feel free to let me know if you have any questions.
I highly recommend getting your whole family involved and learning ASL together. ASL is also a great language skill for young children to learn while just learning to talk as the signs will feel more natural the younger the child is.

Preparing for, and Improving, College Composition and ReadingDespite advances in AI and other technologies, the core practice of excelling in college remains reading comprehension and essay writing. While these tools can act as a band-aid, they do not help students with foundational learning skills overall.
With five years of experience in teaching college composition, I am aware of the gaps between high school and college literacy with which many students enter. My course will focus on filling such gaps to improve prospective and current students' overall reading and writing skills to aid in textbook comprehension and essay writing for any class they may attend.
In attending my course, you will practice:
- 1:1 help with essay edits and writing
- Reading and critical engagement with excerpts from typical college material
- Short writing drills to improve overall writing towards a college level
- Line editing and peer review

Tips and Tricks for Sociology Essay Writing, Targeted to GCSE and AS/A Level Students.I am eager to help young people feel confident when writing sociology essays. I will place an emphasis on deconstructing the questions students are given by encouraging them to reword the question to offer a different perspective on it. In addition, the main aim of a sociology essay is to convince the reader more and more of the argument you have claimed in the introduction. I want to help students do this by helping them follow the PEAL structure, i.e. Point, Evidence, Analysis, Link back to question. I have found this a very effective and coherent way of structuring an essay. I have studied Sociology for 7 years now, at AS/A Level, Undergraduate Level and now at MSc level at LSE. I was awarded First-Class Honours in my undergraduate as well as 'Best Dissertation of the year' by the School of Humanities and Social Sciences. I am seeking a potential career in academia so I truly feel passionate about engaging with the lesson plans on this platform and helping students feel confident in their essay writing.
