I have 20 years of experience tutoring Economics, Business and Finance, and I teach finance from A Level through to Masters level.
My finance background: MPhil in Management with Distinction from the University of Cambridge (Judge Business School), where I studied Accounting and Finance, Financial Reporting, Capital Markets and Strategic Valuation. I also hold a PhD in Economics from UCL, and I taught Financial Institutions to undergraduates at Queen Mary, University of London. I have also worked in equity research and asset management, so I can show how the theory is used in practice.
What I cover
• Corporate finance: time value of money, NPV and IRR, cost of capital, capital structure, dividend policy
• Valuation: DCF, multiples, company analysis
• Financial reporting and accounting: financial statements, ratio analysis, cash flow
• Capital markets, portfolio theory, CAPM, bonds and derivatives basics
• Banking, money and financial institutions
• The finance units of A Level Business and IB Business Management
• Guidance on finance essays, coursework and dissertations
• Interview preparation for finance and consulting roles, including case studies and numerical tests
How I work
We start with your course outline and recent work to see where you are losing marks or getting stuck. Many students can follow the formulas but struggle to decide which method to use or how to interpret the result. We work on that directly, using your own problem sets and past papers.
Lessons are online and one to one. Send me a message through Apprentus with your course, level and what you would like to work on.
