Beginners pet training for cats and dogs (or other animals on request)
From 26 £ /h
Wether a cat, dog, bird or hamster, all pets deserve to learn basic communication with their human friends. This class is solely to teach the basic tricks and obedience as well as gaining insight on your pet. We can start by teaching recall and enforcing the use of their name. This will progress to sit, down, up, wait, leave it, high five, turn around, heel, etc.
I can also provide tips to avoid unwanted situations for first time pet owners as well as some insight into the body language and how to understand your pet. We can discuss odd or bad behaviour and how to work around it as well as socialization and handling.
I am experienced with cats and dogs mainly but can offer some classes for rabbits, birds and rodents.
The class will mainly be a consultation and planning as well as guidance on how to train your pet where I will check up on progress and provide tips.
Training is a long and ongoing process therefore owners should be patient with their pets and willing to learn. Understanding your pet and feeling compassionate towards them is the first step forward.
I dont charge high rates because I believe training is a necessity for pet owners.

About Me
Hi!
My name is Khusi and I am a British a level student in year 13. I am currently studying biology, chemistry and economics for my A levels.
During GCSE, my strongest core subjects were Biology, English, chemistry and maths. My strongest optional subjects were classical Civilisations (grade 8), engineering (grade 7) and religious studies (grade 8). I also passed my 11+ in 2015 and went to an all girl's grammar school.
I am familiar with the GCSE mark scheme and can provide students with an insight on how to approach questions as well as what the examiners look for.
I like to push my students and encourage them as I believe positive reinforcement is the best teaching method. Understanding a student's wellbeing and mental health is also very important so students should not be overworked. This is why I will pace my sessions so that students will engage and enjoy the sessions rather than let it drag out and bore them.
I also believe that a little competition goes a long way and can boost a student's confidence, therefore, I dont mind group tutoring for students with a similar range of ability.
I am an approachable person and enjoy communicating, therefore I feel that students will feel comfortable and will not be intimidated around me. Hopefully, this will encourage them to ask more questions and seek my help when they need it.
My hobbies are reading, drawing, writing and playing sports. I play badminton and table tennis for leisure. I enjoy immersing myself in different cultures and watch a wide variety of shows in different languages. I also own a cat who is fully my responsibility. During my free time, I enjoy teaching him tricks. He is very food motivated and behaves similarly to a dog in terms of affection and obedience due to my consistency in training and handling. He doesnt bite nor scratch people so the hard work is paying off.

11+ sessions will consist of VR, NVR, maths and English practice including tips on how to approach questions and how to save time. Students will be asked to complete past papers and topics will be covered depending on the individual's weakest subjects.
GCSE sessions will consist of chosen subject content according to the exam board specification, and will be completed according to the student's learning pace. Areas of difficulty will be covered upon request.
Homework is an optional addition which will be assessed for both 11+ and GCSE students but incomplete work will be expected to be completed by the next session.
Common rules will be implemented during the session such as; keeping phones on silent, no use of inappropriate language or slang and cameras will remain on whenever possible to ensure that the student is working.
I can do 1:1 tutoring or group tutoring but for group tutoring per student request. Sessions can be refunded fully if I am notified of absence 24 hours prior but after that, the fee will be refunded 50%. For the first lesson, I will need the student to perform an online assesment in their own time and bring material that they need help with as I will have no information on their strengths or weaknesses. The assessment can be sent through apprentus or email.
