Hi! I am Nieves, an experienced Italian teacher. (Italian is my second language, I am Spanish).
In addition, I have official certificates and references of students I have had that I could provide you if asked. Currently, I am studying at the University and, during my free time, I work as a language teacher. During my classes I like to make the students to participate and interact with me. I am a great supporter of active learning, so during the classes we will use a lot of didactic material to read, write, talk and listen the language. I can teach people who do not have previous knowledge about the language or even medium-advanced learners. (I can teach from A1 to C1 level). About Me

I am an open, kind and easy-going young teacher who likes to make the classes in a funny and dynamic way. Plus, I always try to make the lectures to be interactive, interesting and full of practical exercises. Italy is my second home, so I do not only teach the language, but also the culture, the most-used native expressions, its history, etc. I like to carefully prepare every single class according to my student's needs and the approach they want to give to the language (as it is not the same a student who wants to obtain a B1 in three months, or another who wants to learn Italian for pleasure).
To sum up, I always try to give my best!

Education

I am currently studying at the University. However, regarding to my studies related to Italian language, I do have the official certificate of C1 level from Dante Alighieri Academy that I could send to corroborate this information if asked.

Experience / Qualifications

I have been teaching since I was very little, as it has always been my passion! I have more than three years of experience as a remunerated teacher; however, I have been teaching for more than five years now.
During my years as a teacher, I have helped a lot of students to obtain their certifications in Italian, to pass their exams or just to fluently learn the language for pleasure! In addition, I have had from fifteen to sixty years-old-students, so I have experience with every kind of type of student.

I teach for all levels, from very beginners to advanced speakers, passing through amateurs or simply curious of any age. I can also help with university exams and school works/assignments.
Being a pianist and a piano teacher, I already have lots of experience with teaching and pedagogical approach with the whole range of ages.

The lesson is intended to meet the student needs: the focus can be on the grammar, conversation or literature. In case of a middle-level speaker, the lesson will cover all four language's abilities: listening, speaking, writing and reading. My suggestion of a well planned lesson is, for any level, to divide it into two parts: grammar first and then conversation (covering all the abilities mentioned above).

If you wish to brush up your Italian, resume a past series of lessons, or simply start from scratch learning Italian, this is the right lesson for you! I like to personalize each class/course according to the needs and goals of my students. My classes are focused on improving the student's communication skills. At beginner and lower intermediate levels, I prefer using a text book/ student book in the first part of the class. I usually use "Nuovissimo Progetto Italiano" and "Arrivederci" by Edilingua, or "Nuovo Espresso" and "Dieci" by Alma Publishing. For the second part of the lesson, I create engaging contents using original videos, press articles, extracts from blogs and social media, literary texts. If the students do not feel comfortable using Italian from scratch, I can switch to English, German, or Dutch. The course fee includes the correction of home assignments.
