About Me

I am a third year student in International Relations in London at SOAS University. I lived in Italy for 18 years and I would love to teach Italian. I already taught a language (English) in China to Chinese kids as part of a volunteering program last year. I am very easy going and approachable and open to any suggestion to structure your lessons in the most effective way. I am also part of the University Women Football club and also its secretary, and for 15 years I went horse back riding, which is a real passion. I love drawing and painting and most of all having fun. I believe teaching is a great responsibility and from my experience teaching a language in particular needs to be fun.

I am currently enrolled at my last year at University in London in International Relations. I went to high school in Italy and I attended the Liceo Scientifico in my city. My final exam result from high school has been 82/100.

I do not have qualifications to teach Italian, but I am mother tongue, and I have already helped kids while in high school with their homework and with Italian in particular. Furthermore, I went to China to teach English to Chinese children as part of a volunteering program.

I teach for all levels, from very beginners to advanced speakers, passing through amateurs or simply curious of any age. I can also help with university exams and school works/assignments.
Being a pianist and a piano teacher, I already have lots of experience with teaching and pedagogical approach with the whole range of ages.

The lesson is intended to meet the student needs: the focus can be on the grammar, conversation or literature. In case of a middle-level speaker, the lesson will cover all four language's abilities: listening, speaking, writing and reading. My suggestion of a well planned lesson is, for any level, to divide it into two parts: grammar first and then conversation (covering all the abilities mentioned above).

If you wish to brush up your Italian, resume a past series of lessons, or simply start from scratch learning Italian, this is the right lesson for you! I like to personalize each class/course according to the needs and goals of my students. My classes are focused on improving the student's communication skills. At beginner and lower intermediate levels, I prefer using a text book/ student book in the first part of the class. I usually use "Nuovissimo Progetto Italiano" and "Arrivederci" by Edilingua, or "Nuovo Espresso" and "Dieci" by Alma Publishing. For the second part of the lesson, I create engaging contents using original videos, press articles, extracts from blogs and social media, literary texts. If the students do not feel comfortable using Italian from scratch, I can switch to English, German, or Dutch. The course fee includes the correction of home assignments.
