My name is Mercedes and I am a teacher of Italian and Spanish for foreigners.
My relationship with languages stems from a genuine passion for discovering other ways of seeing the world.
Throughout my career, I've come to understand that learning a language means much more than learning words or grammar rules. For me, language and culture are inextricably linked. That's why my teaching is based on a communicative and intercultural approach: learning to express oneself, to understand others, and to interpret the world from different perspectives.
In my classes, grammar is not an end in itself, but a tool that helps us understand how other cultures express themselves and how we can participate in them authentically.
Furthermore, I teach from a very real personal experience: having had to move to another country to live. I've lived in Madrid since 2009 and I know firsthand the needs, challenges, and difficulties that arise when one is immersed in another language and culture. But I also know the enormous richness that this experience offers. That's why I try to help my students not only overcome the obstacles, but also discover and appreciate all the positive aspects of the encounter between cultures.
My goal is to accompany each student in a process that goes beyond language learning: a path that allows us to better understand others, develop empathy, and open ourselves to new ways of thinking and feeling.
Because when we learn a language, we are actually building bridges.
And those bridges help us to transform ourselves into true intercultural speakers.

I graduated in Spanish and English Languages and Literatures and in Translation in Rome (2005), and later I expanded my training with postgraduate studies in Translation Didactics in Granada (2008) and with a Master in Language Teaching through Information and Communication Technologies (2026).
