About Me
Laura was born into a family of musicians in 1988 and started playing the cello at the age of three. She studied in the class of Thérèse Pollet and in parallel with Philippe Müller, professor at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris. After receiving several awards at the end of her studies in Paris and Aulnay, she won a further education award from the Ecole Nationale de Musique et de Danse of Aulnay sous Bois (France) in 2007 with a unanimous decision of the jury. In the same year she was accepted into the class of Christoph Henkel at the University of Music in Freiburg for her bachelor's degree. There she obtained her Bachelor of Music with great success in 2011. Shortly afterwards she was accepted into the class of Lázsló Fenyö in the master's program at the University of Music in Karlsruhe, where she also received her final exam with the grade "very good". To broaden her horizons, she often takes part in master courses to complement her studies, including with Anner Bylsma, Claus Kanngiesser, Xavier Gagnepain, Steven Doane, Wolfgang Boettcher, Antonio Meneses, Jean-Guihen Queyras, Miklós Perényi and Steven Isserlis. Since September 2014 she has been studying music education in the class of Prof. Rafael Rosenfeld at the Basel Music Academy.
Despite her young age, she has already gained a lot of experience in many different areas of music: in 2004 she had the opportunity to work with the Manfred Quartet as part of the project for the promotion of string quartets "Pro-Quartet" and in 2010 she took part in a master class of the Quatuor Ébène. Also active as an orchestral musician, she played on various orchestral projects with well-known conductors. As a member of the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra (2007 to 2010), she saw major conductors such as David Afkham, Myung Wung Chung, Philippe Jordan, Sir Colin Davis, Antonio Pappano and Herbert Blomstedt. She gained teaching experience at the “Académie d`été de musique Fugato” (France) between 2006 and 2011 as a lecturer for violoncello and chamber music. In September 2007 and 2010 she was entrusted with the artistic direction of the “Journées du Patrimoine” in Sedan (France), where she organized and played benefit concerts, which benefited the restoration of a historic building.
At the beginning of her studies in Freiburg, she was asked to play the cello concert by Anton Dvorak and the Rococo variations by Piotr Ilitch Tchaikovsky with the Freiburg Student Orchestra as a soloist. In the 2008/2009 season she worked as an intern with the Philharmonic Orchestra in Freiburg. In addition, she completed an internship with the Southwest Radio Symphony Orchestra in 2012/2013.
