Cello lessons for beginners to advanced levels. More than 15 years experience teaching cello in schools and privately. AMEB and ABRSM exams with good results. Lessons geared towards developing technical facility, essential note-reading skills, counting/rhythm, listening skills and developing musicality.
I am patient and flexible with my teaching style. I can go along with the student's pace or I can push harder and work towards student's aim. I can prepare students for exams, performance, or provide practical advice for improvement. Students range from 5 years old to adults/retirees. Lessons are held at my home studio in Wantirna. Remote lessons available using Zoom or Skype. Able to speak Mandarin (for parents who find it easier to communicate in Mandarin).

About Me

Education
I started my musical journey with the piano when I was 5, and only started liking the piano after I started learning the cello in my teens. I progressed quickly with the cello, obtaining Grade 8 within 3 years. I received the LRSM cert shortly afterwards, had a short stint at a music conservatory in Europe and have been performing and teaching since.
Experience / Qualifications
More than 15 years teaching experience. I have taught cello in music schools, in government and private schools and privately at home. I have extensive performance experience in orchestras and chamber groups. I have taught students of all ages and from different cultural backgrounds. Many students achieve high merits and distinctions for their exams.
