I give personal chess lessons to beginners, juniors, and advanced players. With a KNSB rating of approximately 2100 and chess experience since the age of 6, I help students not only to find better moves, but above all to understand why a move is right or wrong.

A higher rating does not automatically mean that someone is the best coach for every level. Especially for players between approximately 1000 and 1900, I find it important to explain chess ideas clearly, understandably, and practically. My goal is for you to be able to actually apply the knowledge you have learned independently during your own games.

During the lessons, we can work on, among other things:

- Tactics and combinations
- Developing strategies and plans
- Openings and typical middlegame ideas
- Party analyses
- Identifying errors and areas for improvement
- Learning to think and make decisions independently

About Me

I am Mark, 35 years old, and have been an avid chess player since I was 6. With a KNSB rating of around 2100, I play at a high club level myself and continue to constantly develop myself.

What I particularly enjoy about chess is the moment when someone suddenly starts to understand something that seemed difficult before. That is precisely why I find it rewarding to share my knowledge.

I enjoy teaching in a calm and personal manner. I tailor my explanations to the player: with a beginner, it is mainly about fun and a solid foundation, while with an advanced player, we can delve much deeper into tactics, strategy, and analyzing games.
