Graduated from the conservatories of Amsterdam and Rotterdam, I have been combining concerts and violin lessons since my studies. It is an ideal combination for me, in which I can transfer my passion for the violin to my students. My goal is to get the best out of the student at every level and age. The pleasure of playing and developing independence on the instrument are paramount! What do you learn From the very beginning we work on a good, relaxed posture. It is the basis for a free feeling on the beautiful violin to be able to produce a beautiful sound. Learning to read notes comes about through play. Depending on your musical interests, we then look for material for that. The biggest challenge is to make a beautiful story out of every melody. Together we will increase your playing skills as quickly as possible! The violin lesson In a nice classroom in Barendrecht and Rhoon I teach children from the age of three. Adults are also very welcome to make a long-cherished wish come true. The lessons last half an hour or longer and are individual for the most personal attention possible. Many students of the Violin School also play in an orchestra. There are also students who have made it their profession. There are regular performances to be able to show what you have learned, if you wish. The lesson conditions I have competitive rates and flexible lesson conditions. Feeling good with your body and listening to it, understanding where the sound comes from and how to produce it, learning the basics and how to read the notes and the score, learning tricks and daily exercises without the instrument to help you develop your agility and muscles, playing together duets to get closer to the chamber music world and to learn how to listen and collaborate with others. I think it's important to listen also to the student's requests and desires; if you have a tune or a piece that you would love to play we can work on it together. Folk music is also an interesting way through which we can get closer to the instrument and the music world, playing traditional dances from different countries and discovering different music languages. As every person has his own physiognomy and musculature, we will try to find together a correct and comfortable posture that better suits the student to create a connection with the instrument. Warming-up and taking care of our body is part of a musician's life (beginner, amateur or professional) and it is important to prevent injuries and muscle pain. Unfortunately this aspect is not often taken into account and for this reason I aim to transmit this value to my students.
