Conversation in Italian: Interactive Lessons for international students
From 22.31 £ /h
Ciao a tutti!
I would love to help you practice and learn my mother tongue, Italian, and guide through conversations in different topics, whether you want to move to Italy or just speak a bit during your Roman holidays.
Actually, I love teaching languages because I love learning them myself. For me, learning a language requires patience, willingness and joy. I also believe that learning something new in Italian every day is better than learning too much in a single day. I also think that you must use every new word you learn, by interacting and speaking as much as you can.
For this reason, each of my lessons always includes all 5 skills according to the CEFR:
- Spoken Production: e.g. I encourage learners to introduce themselves and speak about their main interests without being interrupted.
- Listening: e.g. I integrate songs, interviews, lectures according to the learner's goals.
- Reading: e.g. articles, film reviews, parts of books and news.
- Writing: e.g. formal and informal letters and e-mails, personal accounts, journals.
-Spoken Interaction: I always spend time in conversation with the student, at the beginning and the end of the lesson, in order to improve her/his fluency and confidence.
I also encourage (but not force!^^) students to do exercises on their own too, so that they are more prepared for the following lesson. I am patient and comprehensive, and I organize my lessons according to the learners' interests and personal goals. From A2- B1 level onwards, I try to speak only in Italian.

Extra information
I start with the student's material. I always use a combination of material from different sources. Good speakers and headphones needed (for pronounciation and listening parts). I usually share a common document with the students, and sometimes add some Powerpoint slides.

About Me
My name is Kaoru, I am Italian-Japanese and i currently work at the Institut Français in Düsseldorf as a lecturer for a French-German project called Francemobil.
I am an official examiner for the DELF exams in French for the A1-B2 levels.
I hold a Master of Science from Lund University (Sweden) in Media and Communication Studies, and a Bachelor of Arts from Université Toulouse 2 in "Cinéma et Audiovisuel". I worked in the educational field as well as in cultural events and film festivals in Europe.
My greatest interest are foreign languages and cultures, and cinema. I have personally experienced the challenge of learning foreign languages through immersive experiences in France, Japan, Germany and Sweden. I am therefore able to understand and help perspective learners into this difficult, yet exciting task.

I currently work as a language teacher in a German Gymnasium (High School). After obtaining my C1 Goethe Zertifikat, one Summer Course in German at LMU Munich and a one-semester exchange in FAU Erlangen Nuremberg, I would love to help you learn this complex and extremely rich language, whether you are learning for passion, preparing for a Goethe exam or want to practice your conversation skills.
I have with me my "Bible" (a German grammar book I used during Covid... yes, I was bored) and can share with you a variety of exercises, powerpoints and links to help you understand how to learn this language in a way that fits your learning speed, your need, your interests and personality.
I know German is hard, so why not learn it with someone who struggled with it as well, but who's now professionally working in Germany - talking and writing German every day?

Hello everyone,
after successfully obtaining my French Baccalauréat and a Bachelor's Degree in Cinema (Licence) with High Honors, I am currently working at the Institut Français in Duesseldorf, where I did a seminar to become examiner for the French DELF tests. I also work with schools and promote this language to a young public, and therefore developed a high pedagogical quality during this last year.
I am therefore ready to help you in all your needs with this language, which can be quite tough sometimes (think about pronounciation and exceptions to the rules), and which I struggled myself to learn before obtaining a high professional level.
I can prepare you with strategies to understand the structure of the national test and help you successfully pass it, but I can also encourage you to "unblock" your language skills with chill conversation sessions, or more rigorous grammar explanation, while sharing with my suggestions to embrace this enriching culture (be it with films, books, music or art).
Looking forward to help you enjoy - and master - French!
à plus,
Kaoru
