Bioprocessing/Biochemical Engineering/Pharmaceutical Biotechnology (Design, Operation and Scaling of Bioreactors and Unit Operations)

Bioprocessing/Biochemical Engineering/Pharmaceutical Biotechnology (Design, Operation and Scaling of Bioreactors and Unit Operations)

In bioprocessing you cannot have the cake and eat it too. Constantly, you need to make choices about which unit operation is best suited for a particular application and what are the trade offs. Because of so many factors that guide this decision, it can be daunting for starting biotech/bioprocess students to be overwhelmed. I was definitely overwhelmed in my 1st year of uni. But after 5 years studying the subject, I am here to help you to think like an engineer and make informed choices based on the context of the process and product. In my class, I will teach you the theoretical background behind bioreactors and common unit operations (e.g. filtration, centrifugation, chromatography) and how to implement them into a bioprocess. This class is best suited for university students (bachelor or master), people joining/switching industry or just people interested in how pharmaceuticals are made! If you are a university student, we can can discuss your own assignments or projects. My tutoring style is discussion-based. We will have a conversation about the subjects rather than a lecture, which will give you the tools and confidence to better synthesize the course content and present your ideas in a specific manner. I create my own materials for each class, including definitions, calculations, diagrams and past-exam questions. I use a touchscreen tablet to interactively annotate our class worksheets, draw P&IDs, structures and mechanisms, write down chemical reactions and step-by-step calculations. For any questions, please feel free to contact me!

German for all levels and preparation for official exams

German for all levels and preparation for official exams

CASTILIAN DOWN ---CAT----- Hello everyone! Soc l'Annkathrin, it took 35 years and 11 years that I visited Barcelona here. Soc from a town near Hamburg, but I will live and study French for 5 years. Here in Barcelona I have been working as a professor in various academies and as a classroom professor at the Zürich Schule Barcelona. I also have experience at the university level. I have always done things related to teaching (assistant conversation in Paris while carrying out studies, babysitting in German/English, different workshops, assistant German teacher in a daycare center in Sant Cugat, reinforcement classes, private classes...,). I have a degree in Anglophone Philology and am planning to take a master's degree in linguistics. More and more, he will receive a specialization course in literary translation (Catalan-Germany) subsidized by the Ramon Llull Institute. I love the languages and I hope to greatly appreciate both learning and teaching. I place great importance on a pleasant and cordial learning environment and it is important to create a positive relationship with my students with the German language. During the pandemic, I have been able to learn many things related to online classes and have to serve different classes because classes are always diverse and with recreational activities to practice the grammatical contingencies of students in class or to review vocabulary, practice oral production, etc. What we do is to serve online classes that most resemble an in-person class with the mateixa having fun, but every time we go home we have complete comfort and risk. Ultimately, everything is about adapting to the circumstances and creating more experience! See you soon! ---CAST---Hello everyone! My name is Annkathrin, I'm 35 years old, and I've lived here in Barcelona for 11 years. I'm from a small town near Hamburg, but I lived and studied in France for 5 years. I have a degree in English Philology and a Master's in Linguistics. I also completed a specialization course in literary translation (Catalan-German) subsidized by the Institut Ramon Llull. I love languages and I'm very dedicated to both learning and teaching. The pandemic has allowed me to learn many things related to online teaching, and I use different tools to ensure my classes are always varied and include fun activities that allow students to practice the grammar covered in class, review vocabulary, practice speaking, and so on. Any resource I can use helps me make online classes as similar as possible to in-person classes, with the same level of enjoyment, but from the comfort of their own homes and without any risks. Ultimately, it's all about adapting to the circumstances and gaining valuable experience from them. See you soon!
